OMC,

I'm yet to be convinced though that Ricky is the man to either implement it or move it forward.

Suity

How can I say this without offending but didn't you believe Kearney would?

I agree with you though, I'm not convinced but I am 100 times more confident than I was with Kearney.

No offense mate.
I firmly believed that Kearney COULD implement it and move it forward.
What I'm also convinced about now is that Kearney was struggling as a first grade coach and needed to go.

I'll go a step further:

I think Ricky is a complete dud. I would rather we kept Kearney - if only because it would mean just 1 more year of suffering instead of 3 more.

Hate Stuart, as soon as he was appointed Blues coach I predicted no series win while he was in charge, and for him to flip flop on his moral high ground of 'pick and stick' and change the team every which way except for the obvious way.

Can't wait for 3 seasons of Hayne playing wing, center, 5/8, prop, lock, second row, hooker and NOT fullback. It'll be fantastic.

What Kearney did in his first year here was good.

What he did in his second year was so bad that he undid a lot of the good stuff in the first year.

I still maintain the Kiwi job screwed his focus in the off-season!!!!

I think you're just trying to set up a non-sequitur of an argument so that you can pretend any future success can be attributed to the idiot who gave us 2 drastically bleak years.

In 2 years he managed to take our NYC team from last all the way to second last. If there was a focus on youth, it wasn't a very good one. And yes, you'll pretend that he was focussing on younger youth - but that doesn't follow either. There's no reason we couldn't have a youth policy which actually saw our NYC improve from last to mediocre.

The unfortunate fact is that the youth movement had 2 years and didn't move anywhere. So IF a youth movement is to succeed it will due to what happens from now onwards. That is, we need to get one started and get it going. Just having the idea isn't anything new, the failure to implement it lead to the sacking, of that there's little doubt.

So you believe that Hagan's two year stint could have lasting effects on our junior development structure but Kearney's two year stint cannot?

Mate since you gave in to internet bullying around here you just get dumber and dumber.

What about Ando's 2 year stint?

I think the simple and sad fact is that we've been quite poor in the junior department for a number of years now. And under none of the 3 previous goons have we seen any improvement in that area.
The worst coach of the 3 spent the most time talking about junior structures, but wasn't able to deliver anything on that front either.

Being able to admit you were backing the wrong guy isn't dumb, it's intelligent. One day you might pick up on it? It used to be more fun watching your posts when you were right, now it's just fun to wind you up and watch you explode about the same thing over and over.

If by 'wind me up and watch me explode' you mean 'provide poorly reasoned arguments' then please, keep winding me up and I promise I'll keep exploding. Over and over. ;-)

Fair point about Anderson, but I used Hagan because I know you've acknowledged the lasting harm he did to our development structure. That said, the question stands:

If our previous coaches had lasting impact on our 'academy' and youth recruitment, why would Kearney have no impact? And what's more how would you know? He's only been gone six weeks, and any lasting effect would by definition be seen in the years to come, as we're seeing now with the legacies of previous coaches.

So there's me exploding. I think your haste to deny Kearney's obvious influence on our club's future is extremely illogical, and smacks of you wanting to avoid being bullied by the Kearney scapegoat brigade.
