True. It seems odd to me the Pa there rarely seem to lose anyone they want. Perhaps Burton is the first in a while. Half our good ones seem gone before they hit 19.
Penrith aren't really a Sydney club, but the rugby league playing demographic tends to move there from Sydney, displaced by families whose kids play video games or cricket. @T-Boon knows what I'm talking about.

Yep, and walking around Mt Druitt Shopping Town in expensive sporting shoes is a good way to develop evasive abilities.

The only thread I care about is Parramatta Eels Seniors.

Yep. The juniors have had their chance to produce over 30 years. Either we need to do something revolting like put Phil Gould in charge of their development or we need to stop putting effort into this area.
While Manly are trying to claim our juniors we should be trying to get their Trbobskevich’s.

Only 17 so 3 or 4 yrs away

Kidwell said in the podcast with TK that Hollis and Hall won't really be able to play as regular first graders until they are 23/24. Marata has just hit 24. He said that there are freaks like Haas, but he is the exception.

Jeez Henry Hall hasn't played with us for a few years, very esoteric reference there...

...unless you mean Sam Hughes?

Hughes is 20. Hollis will be soon. Both will play NRL by end of 22 season is my pick. Rare if a prop is any good he doesn't debut by age 20/21.
And a regular by 22. There are late bloomers but 23/24 is very old.

He's not talking about debuts but about becoming a regular first grader. 23 seems normal for NRL middle forwards. Here's the age our middles turned the year they became regular first graders (20+ games):

22 RCG
23 Nrown
23 Niukore
23 Paulo

Here's some more:

20 Fa'asuamaleaui
20 JFH
20 Flegler
20 Fotuaika
20 Graham (but in the ESL so does it even count?)
20 Haas
20 Murray
20 Packer
20 Papalii (but in the back row)
20 Daifiti
20 Woods
21 NAS
21 Fifita
21 Horsburgh
21 Klemmer
21 Merrin
21 Musgrove
21 Jaifiti
21 Taumalolo
21 Tolman
21 Trbojevic
22 Asiata
22 Blair
22 Boyd
22 Jromwich
22 Finucane
22 AFB
22 Lawrie
22 Lisone
22 McGuire
22 Napa
22 Kims
22 Tapine
22 Tatola
22 Twal
22 JWH
23 Arrow
23 Turgess
23 Ese'ese
23 Evans
23 Leota
23 Liu
23 Lodge
23 Ofahengaue
23 Sue
23 Tamou
23 Taukeiaho
23 Terepo
23 Vaughan
23 Williams
24 Alvaro
24 Hamlin-Uele
24 Kerr
24 Lui
24 Knight
24 Rudolf
24 Taupau
24 Wallace
24 Welch
25 Kamikamica
25 McLean
25 Molo
25 Paasi
26 Eisenhuth
26 Glasby
29 Nicholls

So the median there is 22, and therefore a prediction of 23/24 is a fairly low-expectation guess for when Hughes/Hollis become legit first graders (if ever). There are plenty of top 30 NRL middles over the age of 25 who have never played 20+ NRL games in a season. Everyone needs backups.

Oregon is 1.5yrs older then Hughes and 2yrs older then Hollis. Has 23 games.
Stefano is only 8mths older then Hughes and a year then Hollis.
I'm very interested watching all four guys career. I wonder who will be the best. For some reason my gut always felt Hollis. But Kafusi I feel will break out this year and play every game if fit. He might be the safer pick as he looks a genuine NRL player. The others may just be back ups.
