Parramatta Eels Juniors

As a pointer at least half the Eels team was playing up 2 years and think a couple 3 years. The Roosters import from NZ in a big way, from Matts and Ball they fly in players from NZ weekly. The halves have big frequent flyer points.

Disappointing, but playing against older and physically bigger boys after a SG Ball campaign seems to have taken its toll.

The big question is what do the Retention team do over the next week or so, there are decisions to be made on development contracts and possibly back end top 30 deals. That could set the club up if they do it well, that’s the overarching decision now.

just to add, why is it so difficult to get decisions against the Roosters, offsides, forward passes , deliberately slowing down the ruck we’re obvious but let go. Given the leg up they seem to get consistently across all grades, was happy to see even the questionable Storm beat them last night.

Parra looked more like footballers. Roosters more like athletes. They played simple and powered thru us.
We pushed the pass and played with little patience but looked a more skilled side.
Felt like we had zero ball in the 2nd half. What have you heard about Ethyn Martin? He looked to me like he would be a smokie for NRL with a big off-season. Strong, fast, turn off pace and physically ready.

I thought our boys were on top in the first half before a few started overplaying their hand. Dropped ball and poor choices by Arthur, Lynn, Sanders and Talagi. I guess it comes down to experience.

Why aren't people on here happy to accept reality?
Its reality that MA and Talagi are just not physically close to NRL. And unless both bulk up or grow the odds are hugely stacked against them ever making it.
That's not knocking them it's purely fact. Professional sport is cut throat. Why I wouldn't bother with Komolafe anymore.

What people are you talking bout?

MA needs to stay in Flegg next year for mine.

Is Talagi even a centre? I know he has been shifted there due to Lynn and Sanders..He needs a good off season at centre to learn that position.

Our Forwards still give me a woody though they were better than the Roosters pack in the first half.

Be surprised if Ethyn Martin isn’t given a back end top 30 contract, heard he was signed as he’s a flyer and that’s what the club is searching for .

Let's hope so. He needs to play on the wing in cup for a majority of the season and hopefully next to a centre who also plays next to him consistently..

Took me one look to see talent. Same as Morretti. It is easy to see if have the gift.
Thoughts similar to mine on Kolomafe?

My comment was the only TWO I see with potential.
Have you written him off? He is a huge unit and young. Might need a good off season and defense work. But he still is capable of an NRL career.

Brazel ,Tupou and Latu will be ahead of him soon.

They definitely look to have a future , the 2 props are the age that they need experience, both Parker and JBM should be in KOE next year learning the ropes.JBM did some work there this year and wasn’t out of place.

Some patience with the other boys who played up from Ball to get physically ready, ,agree with Hindy they were beaten by bigger, older athletes today, not really better footballers. Hope this is the start of building from within and adding to in specifics from outside.

The thing is the players also need to be patient and not have their managers in their ears ruining their development for fast money..

It seems the club was slowly bringing the Flegg players through in our last game our bench was all Flegg players as well as Miller-Stephen and Blackburn.

I do wonder what our KOE side will be round 1

I won’t lie. I’m very disappointed we didn’t make the jersey flag grand final after this current crop of juniors were touted as our next hope (especially after missing the finals).

Which players are ineligible for flegg next season? Parker, JJBM, brazel, mataele ??? You'd think they'd all be in Cup next year. Maybe a couple of outside backs and Lynn to come in for Rankin.
