I was in line at the canteen down the other end of the field, but it did look like it wasn’t a clean grounding. He just battered at it, but I don’t know without slow motion if it was legitimately scored

On the way back, I walked past the Bears bench and let me just tell you their coach has blown a fuse

Oh the poor old bears!! Talk about a 12 pt swing - the bears put in a nice little grubber behind the line and their backrower just bobbles the put down to see the ball runs dead. Lighting thinking from Cameron Bamblett with the Fullback flying back to the 20 and only a few bears defenders in front of him, he finds Fletcher who then finds Talatainia and the 5/8th runs away to score right on half time.

Replayed it on BarTv a couple of times and it wasn’t grounded unfortunately, the ref got it correct.

The coach is ex Parra Jnr League , and I waa around Bears junior reps for 3 years when my grandson played and captained them , and when they play the Eels it’s their Grand Final and noted immediately on the calendar. They have expanded their recruitment area from mainly Penrith and Parra, and now it’s into the country and particularly the Central Coast, some handy players in both Matts and Ball.
