well, do you also have a problem with the rest of the board not stopping Duncan doing his thing on ozzie??

Muzza, its great that the big picture is getting clearer and clearer for everyone, this includes me. I have never claimed that I know it all but I am determined to keep pushing, looking, researching etc to get to the bottom of it. Yes, maybe some of 3P is/was collateral damage as is Casper, Stagger eel and all others caught up in whatever attacks we/they received, slander or not, misguided or not, stupid or not, being hurled over the net. I see the whole club at stake here: see this thread for more on this: http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/showthread.php?t=400069 - It only takes a few people in the right spots to bring down a club and it could well be that some of the board members didn't see it and were acting in good faith. Lying on the floor of the forest we can only see a few feet in front of us but, as we get up and walk to the high ground, we can see far more clearly the big picture of the landscape around. We only know what we know and this includes the directors etc. This is why we all need full-disclosure, then we can make sense of everything that has happened and make sense for/with the right decisions we should be making for our club and its future.

Hindmarsh is doing sideline commentary in Melbourne, he would win a premiership next year with them if they are actually forcing him out the door and this isn't tabloid journalism (which it is, he will retire)

Who takes responsibility for that then? The only players contracted beyond this year as a result of the previous coaching staff are Hayne and Horo. The rest of the squad were either signed or retained by Kearney and co, or are uncontracted beyond this season. Please don't tell me we upgraded the contracts of players like Keating, Lasalo, Loko and Morgan to the point it's affecting our salary cap space for next season.

Hayne and Horo must be on huge increases next year if we aren't going to have alot of cash to spend if we offload Hindy, Burt, Shakleton, Smith, Poore etc.

I still reckon we will have a shitload to spend if we get rid of these blokes.

Hasler was also showing improvement every year he was coaching up until they won it. Your insulting hasler by comparing the 2.

2004 they finished 10th
2005 they finished 8th
2006 they finished 5th
2007 they finished 2nd & were runners up
2008 they won the thing

Kearney is no where near haslers coaching capabilities & the team hasler took over was a worse basket case than this club is. They were a week away from going under

Two things:

1. Hasler finished 13th in his first season (out of 15 teams), not 10th.

2. This season isn't over and I'm positive we'll finish in the eight after we get Hayne back.

There's no quotes in the article about who is going to be let go. Kearney will make the decision and he sure as he'll ain't going to tell the telegraph about it.

Kearney will have to tell someone - namely players, admin, and player managers. You can't try to sign a new team without letting on what positions are up for grabs. And once you start telling people it is only a matter of time before the media finds out. You reckon that player managers and blazer wearers don't get something out of leaking a few stories?

Nobody really expects a coach or CEO to give the media quotes about who he is going to cut, not publicly anyway. They tell the media off the record. That way the club insider stays anonymous, the fans can call BS, and the journo can use his source again.

The DT story reads like a nice little 2 + 2 effort, pull a few strings together and name the usual names. But I don't think too many Parra fans would argue with the players nominated for the chop. It makes sense to have these blokes move on even though there are some fan favourites there ie Hindy and Burt.

Bloody oath you will, plus the $500k salary cap increase.

In Hasler's first year Manly won 9 lost 15. Not great by any means, but a lot better than 6 wins, 1 draw, and 17 losses.

He also started with a club that had already been cleaned out - he didn't have any big existing contracts to maneouvre his salary cap around so he got to start fresh.

Nrl stopped doing that after the bulldogs found a loop hole.

No they didn't. They stopped teams adjusting existing contracts, but contract extensions are considered a new contract and can be completely renegotiated.

The catch is the player must be extending his tenure at the club.

Many knew about Glen Duncan Muzza... I knew he was a culprit... so did many others.

So why did Roy not put an end to this?
He had the power to do it, obviously with support from other directors or were they bound to the Pirtek $$$$$ blackmail as well?

Were the Pirtek $$$$$ more important than the best interests of the club.?

Duncan did not act alone he was well supported by Sard and Osborne, the later convinced the Board to change coach and fed incorrect information to the Board about player tensions with DA.

that quote from shack is worrying.

hard times at the club

kearney needs to clean the place out, players need to understand why this is happening. feel sorry for hindy if this is how it's going to end for him though. he should retire on his own terms. but sk also needs to show he isn't f**king around

Maybe he needs to show that he can actually coach, too.

Hasler never had his best player injured for 300 minutes of those four games either.

god you talk crap. We have missed player. SO from my understanding we were a man team from 2009 until 2011. So Longface rectified that by bringing in sandow & roberts.

Even though he has 3 playmakers now we are still a 1 man team. Withought hayne we still cant win. wow your are too funny.

How did you have time to post during the game stephen

Mate, the Knights ran last the year Andrew Johns was injured. Even with NSW hooker Buderus on their books. They started the year with 13 straight losses then won 8 of 11 when Johns came back into the team.

That's why players of his and Hayne's calibre are considered irreplaceable - because you can't replace them.

We didn't bring Sandow to the club to win games on his own; we signed him so Hayne wouldn't have to.
