not a bad idea at all YY... if you have an issue wiith the financial you can rock up early - but if you aren't interested, just come for the latter part.

The idea has merit!

The club uses the monies for Deposits on buses, subsides for other events, and inviting guests to the Xmas Dinner function, as well as the two awards the SC give out at the end of the year for Toyota cup and the new award for NRL player of the year.

Then again, you could have always left after Daniel's Q/A?
But that meeting was done out of order to allow Ando to leave early (and without having to suffer through the minutes and financials)

On a normal day those things would be done first and early - and other attendees could join in after that?

I've walked in, in the middle of meetings before, as you saw John do during the night.

I don't know about having people milling around outside the Wentworth Room waiting again for more things to finish though, they do that for the first 30 minutes getting the committee meeting over with, while the rest of the members are eating dinner or as I was exploring the digital photos in the hall of fame.

But I am sure it is an option, also in reality they normal only take 5 minutes to get through before getting to general business.

ok, whatevs... there are options though, and maybe massive concessions need to be made to get people hooked, before reintroducing the boring bits. Cos at the moment, somethings keeping them away.

Personally, I think lack of publicity for the PESC is a major factor to start with, then some of the previous perceptions and attitudes of fans and the membership.

Nothing i saw last night gave me any reason to change my perceptions of the supporters club - and Nikks and i went into that meeting with a very open mind.

and that is the bigger problem as apposed to the "Boring" procedural bits, and that is the Part the PESC president is working on fixing.

What are the chances of the Club assisting in building PESC membership, or are they a truly independent body with unrelated support?

with the B&G Army, I would assume the club needs some sort of formal meetings to co-ordinate the wishes of the mob and chants etc

High,

Under Ross Smart's time at the club we saw a great deal of improvement for the announcement of the Supporters Busses and as we all here found out for the involvement of the club in promoting supporters based initiative (the Hoops and Bay for the Tigers bay, the Bays and support during the finals).

That has remained under the new person with an advertisement on the Main of the Parraeels.com.au website.

There is also high levels of involvement between the president and the new Merchandise manger Chris in the BGA Store. I was in the BGA store today and Chris has the membership forms for the SC on the counter along with the B&G Army forms. Chris is also going to be selling the tickets for the SC busses instead of the Leagues Club reception in the future as far as I am aware, once the BGA store officially opens.

There are other new initiatives happening like a News letter, and I hope renewal notices for those that can not get to the last meeting of the year to renew.

The club (LC) wants to see what return it is getting for its grant, that was put to the meeting in very direct terms so if they want to keep their club, they need to see expanded numbers, and for that they will need to make some accommodations.

The President of the club (who is on here as PESC) is also trying to organise Merch and has already lined up a Sponsor for the club, which could see the PESC turn into Parramatta's Version of the Sharks travelling supporters group, with their own sponsorships and outfits.

High Mark,

Thanks for the heads up. That's very informative and sounds promising.

Cheers, Suity

I still have serious doubts that any new members will attend meetings as long as they have to suffer through the boring procedural parts.. but i'm getting shot down.

Jess - over and out. :D
