So you think (despite what has been reported on the issue) that Hayne was NOT told to stay home?
I think the simple fact is that he WAS told not to come to the game, to have a week off to 'recover' from Origin.
You (and I) might think that a dumb decision by the coach, but unfortunately (for your argument) that actually IS reality.
I suppose you've never been in a position where you tell people what to do? As their boss you give them an instruction and expect them to comply since that is the professional thing? If you've ever asked someone not to come to a particular meeting, then had them turn up, it gets more than a little bit awkward....
I have been in a position to tell what people to do but LOL at your comparison of a normal workplace to a professional sports team. Thats like comparing apples to oranges.
I've also have been involved in football teams in levels 1 or 2 steps below the NRL. Never heard of or saw a player in that time be given time off and not turn up to a game whether they are injured or not. And those players that did show up weren't instructed too because they have brains and understand footy is a team game where your always there for your mates.
