Look forward to the apology. This has got to be humiliating all around. Tablecloth should lose his job.

that really was fakenews
Paul Kent was trying not to put shit on his fellow News Ltd journo, but it was clear that Tabakoff prematurely ejaculated. Kent said that Max went to the NRL ages ago and asked what rent should be charged. The NRL picked a number (or agreed with Max's number) and it was case closed.
Or merkins in the middle. You ask merkins on the right and they are convinced that the ABC are biased and fake news.
Or merkins in the middle.
There are shows and stories on the ABC that have a definite left slant in the same way the some shows and stories on Sky News have a right slant.
Well its no fun if you dont have someone from the other side to ambush and try and make look like a dickTo be fair I think that the ABC have been trying very hard of late to be bipartisan. When it comes to politics, they try and get someone on from both "sides" even to the extent that traditional viewers are whining about the amount of "right wing nutjobs" in the morning news and on The Drum.
IIRC the current Minister for Comms Mitch Fiefield (sp) put some funding on probation and sighted certain aspects of the ABC Charter that needed to be complied with.
Watching Landline this week however their content with farmers and climate change was that it was very much the real deal. Last night on 7:30 they had a report on run-off and the reef (Rockhampton) and there was a cattleman who didn't buy nutrient run-off had any effect on the reef and a miner who said that it was not hotter than 60 years ago, so on that basis climate change was crap.
I deal with their f**kwit journalists ocassionally and I have seen how some of them distort the truth and generally behave in an appalling fashion. To be fair I think that the ABC have been trying very hard of late to be bipartisan. I don't watch the ABC so I have no idea who Jack Irish is. Sounds like a made up name.
Ok but wtf is Greenberg doing sitting on his hands on all of this. A quick statement from the NRL was what was required.
And what would the quick statement say? Given that, despite the subsequent discussions in the media, there is still an ongoing investigation (which may not take long)?

Sometimes it is not until you are balls deep in a ‘story’ yourself that you realise how biased and inaccurate the reporting on the story actually is.
That said, I agree that more broadly they are making changes for the better. They had to.
it would say it was dealt with and approved years ago
So you would read a newspaper article that includes a mix of vague assertions (and some absolute irrelevancies) and confidently state that all of them have been deal with?
You make categorical statements when you know categorically what the allegation is (and that includes know exactly which cases the article was referring to).
Agree. Everyone has an agenda to some degree. Are there any journos that report the news old school without and angle or agenda ? I yearn for the old days when reporters reported the news.

NRL clubs lost a total of $60m as alarming state of finances revealed
Phil Rothfield sports-editor-at-large, The Sunday Telegraph

THE NRL’s two western Sydney clubs — the Parramatta Eels and the Penrith Panthers — lost a combined $19 million on their premiership campaigns last year.
The alarming financial figures were revealed to the 16 club chief executives at their conference last week, showing only the Broncos made a profit on the 2017 season.
Grants of $13 million from the TV broadcast money (up from $10 million) this year will ensure as many as eight clubs at least break even or make small profits in 2018.
Yet for the Eels and the Panthers, only their thriving leagues clubs have saved them.
Parramatta’s financial reports were effected by having no major sponsor until the end of the year, a million-dollar payout to Anthony Watmough, salary cap legal fees and the move to ANZ Stadium.
All up, clubs lost a combined total of $60.5 million.
The extra $48 million in grants to the 16 clubs will lessen the impact this year.
Yet clubs like the Panthers, who have had to pay out Anthony Griffin, will still finish well in the red.
The Panthers group lost money last year because of propping up the football department’s $9 million loss.
Other clubs without leagues club support have to make up the deficit themselves.
