Parramatta Stadium Rebuild and other stuff

A high percentage of off the plan buyers on Parra are from mainland China. Shit has hit the fan over there with the Gov now not allowing punters to take cash out of the country. Developers are worried about purchasers being unable to complete.

Agents are canvassing residents here trying onsell apartments. Was speaking to a major agent today.

Good for locals to pick up something cheap but can you get investor finance. APRA has made it very tough.

Or, just wait til it becomes a ghetto and move in as a squatter!

And another thing - the ANZ Stadium article was from July 29.

Sharp actually resigned on July 16.

So you can bet any amount it was rushed through before he resigned.

It's a disgrace of the highest order imo.

Dunno about the highest order.
It's at the most a disgrace of the medium order.

I think it's a pretty small, regional disgrace tbh. Something the people of a few ghettos will gossip about but won't be well know four ghettos over.

NO
Sharp and co. Signed the deal weeks before he resigned.

The Western Sydney Stadium had already been approved

And it was exactly the case where Sharpie was always pushing for more game at Parramatta throughout his tenure.

All of a sudden when the shit was hitting the fan and Sharp's head was on the chopping block, he signs a new deal with anz.

You work it out Gronk.

Why are you talking to me ?

Could you link your source for the bolded statement.
Even if it is true, there is still an affordable housing shortage in this city.
When was the last time you drove out to the north west Gronk?
Check out the thousands of houses or apartments being built in North Kellyville, Rouse Hill, Box Hill etc... at the moment. It's insane. Thank god the NWRL is being built. Road congestion is already on the undesireable side of insane.
The demand is still there from the 1600 residents coming into Sydney every week.
Tbh with you, I'm not quite sure where this demand will end with the current influx of residents.
Melbourne is worse and will overtake Sydney's population within 15 years.
If there will be a ghetto (f**king lol and stupid suggestion) somewhere, it won't be in Parramatta City Centre.

Gronk, weren't you trying to justify the two ANZ games with your Easter Monday attendances post ?

And which other so called "big"match would attract over 30 k

The recent Dogs game at ANZ posted somthing like 14k.

It just doesn't make sense

Gronk, I hope you're not actually Steve Sharp or Boulos

You're right. We definitely should have played the Bulldogs game at Parramatta.

You have misinterpreted my conversation with someone as criticism for something.

It's not and I am happy for anyone to buy what offshore merkins can't.

Oh - are you saying that this thread should only be about the Stadium and nothing else? Great idea. Unfortunately this thread is anything but because posters on here kept changing the thread to a discussion about potential ghettos and crap like that. Not sure who that was though? Maybe you can tell me.
Sure... that'd be the people who posted pictures of proposed 50+ residential tower buildings in a stadium thread.

Stick to the new Stadium, there'd be no discussion of Parramatta's inevitable future ghettoisation!

More future ghettos? Imagine my surprise....

Steve Sharp will have been gone for about 5 years by the time the stadium opens ... lol
I hope they bring him out before kick-off at the new Stadium (as 1986 premiership alumni and the first try-scorer at the old stadium) and let the fans give him a big cheer...

In all seriousness, this is a very good article questioning why we have such growth, and whether it really is our best interests.

https://www.theguardian.com/busines...n-of-say-15-million-makes-sense-for-australia

I'd quote some sections out of it, if it seemed less like people had already made up their minds on the issue.

Me thinks we are going to get more home games than originally thought.

The Tigers, dragons and the Roosters could bring their home games across for huge financial benefits.

But I still can't believe Steve Sharp booked us in at ANZ for somthing like the next 5 years for two games.
Who knows how much under the table money the previous board
pocketed ?
This post has the same Bartman/Phantom weird text size issues.
