how is backflipping on a multimillion dollar deal probably involving large penalty payments to the various parties involved going to endear her to the voters?
I suspect it may endear her to voters that don't want the stadium rebuilt (i.e. the majority of people).

Mine too! I actually had this conversation at the pub this week with a mate. I don't know anyone who says its the right one that is bigger.

My middle one is bigger, tbh. The left and the right ones are about the same size....

Is it the majority?

I'd suspect the majority of people couldn't give a f**k, could they? NRL fans mostly don't mind because ANZ is a massive, soulless shithole but I'd reckon most normal people couldn't care less.

There would be more people would consider it a waste of money than who support it. Not everyone is campaigning like Fitzy but if pressed I guarantee they would prefer to see the money spent elsewhere.

Don’t underestimate voter backlash to what they perceive to be reckless and unnecessary spending.

No I agree in that regard. There will probably be more opposed than for it. But I reckon voter apathy is at an all time high, too, and plenty just won't give half a shit.

Here in Can-Bra the AFL-grovelling plonker they've put in charge is agitating to scrap plans for an RL/RU/Soccer stadium in the city and instead extensively upgrade Manuka Oval and knock down Civic Pool for a large basketball arena. Because every true blue Aussie fair dinkum loves their b-ball!.

Given Canberra is the only market where RU makes a profit, and given the parochial (if fair-weather) support for the Raiders and Brumbies, the fact that they have been agitating for an A-League side since 1976 and the fact that we don't even have an AFL side and keep bending over for an out of town side, you'd reckon a lot of voters would be pissed. But most of them barely even know or care about it....

My son played against Nepean today in a soccer trial. The game was at St Marys. Park was nice enough but god that area is terrible. About 2 shops open in the main drag. Felt like a Walking Dead set. What a miserable place.

Talking about St Marys, Mal & Gladys announced a airport rail today vis St Marys to be opened the same time as Badgerys Creek.

Thank f**k for that. Abbott didn’t plan to open rail until 5 years after the opening.

Still didn't stop the lefts talking pelican, Foley, again using the line that stadiums are taking priority. That's from a party that did nothing for over 10 years except announce the same roads and railways several times while not actually starting a km of anything.
