Good thing we were first stadium off the rank ... otherwise we might have been the one given the chop

Well TBH if any stadium could have been renovated it was ours. Stands were already in good position and they could have just duplicated the sides at the ends and plonked a continuous drip zone roof on it.

Absolutely ... couple a hundred bucks would have covered the costs

At the rate it's going it looks like given another month or so the main structure will pretty much be in place. Looking good.

Certainly looking good.

The main structural steel started going up in December at the southern end. The western stand was still at pouring slabs at ground level at that time.
That's 4 months ago, so I think that it will be at least another 3-4 months before the main structure is complete.
In that time, the north stand structure should have connected with the east stand. A lot of the concrete terracing will be installed in the upper stands, the western stand will have topped out, and the roofing structure will be continuing. It must be noted that most of the lower concourse has yet to begin, with generally just formwork in place. This will get a push along as well during this time.
External works have begun and will continue. Roof cladding will probably also begin.

Demolition of the old stadium began in January last year and took two months. So, we have got to the current stage within 12 months, which is phenomenal. It will be touch and go whether the stadium is ready before the next state election in March 2019 but geez, it's going well.
One important point to note is that the current build has had a fantastic run with good weather. Long may this continue.

What i meant was that all the steel for the stands would be up. Maybe the roof trusses all in place. And joined to the western stand. So pretty much look like the stadium is "whole".

Yeh, I know what you meant, but I tried to explain that that will take more than "a month or so".

Yeah i read what you posted mate. But by the look of that photo the footings are all there for the steelwork and if you look at how much steelwork has been done as compared to photos posted a month or so ago, there's been more done in the last month or so than it looks like is left to be done now.

Weather permitting i bet all the framework major components will be in place come end of April mid May

Including the roof as you stated? I think not.

Yeah roof trusses. Not the sheeting.

I tell ya what, if I'm wrong I'll concede I'm a know nothing blow hard. Or words to that effect. If I'm right it can be your choice what phase of adulation you choose to bestow upon my me for my superior powers of observation.

Deal?

Edit. Im not including the roof trusses over the western stand. But all the rest around to the stand on both sides.

lol. It isn't a contest mate. All good though.
I just think what you are saying will take a little longer. That's all. Maybe it'll end up in between your guesstimate and mine?

I reckon the while thing will be finished sometime within the next 10 years.

I may be wrong though. This is the NSW government at work.
