I'm very confident that we'll get something that everyone's happy with," Ayres said. "We'll be looking to get world class rake, which is the angle of the seats, and we'll be looking to accommodate all different types of fan usage in the design the best way we can."
Fantastic that the govt is seriously looking at designing the stadium with a steep rake.
Is it at all possible that finally, in this country, we might end up getting a seriously decent stadium that compares with some of the really classy football stadiums overseas? We can only hope so.
Truly, Parramatta deserves its own decent football stadium.
In reality, with what is planned for the city both commercially and residential wise, our city needs a seriously decent stadium that will last the long term.
Finally, we have a govt that is willing to throw some money towards this.
Just think about it guys...........just 30 years ago, we got a new stadium. Nobody else did.
Now, just 30 years later, the Govt is willing to throw a massive $300 million at an upgrade. Manly have been crying about it for ages. Balmain have also been requesting it. Kogarah have got it. Wollongong have got it.
But now it's our turn.
We are getting a massive amount of money thrown our way, so we need to make the most of it. Anyone, who has any chance to have a say, should do so. Pressure the govt for 35 000 seats instead of the 30 0000 that they wish for.
Please, let's get the best stadium we can get.
This is the last chance we will get for the next 50 years. We need to make the most of it while the govt is prepared to spend the bucks.
