I thought that a new pool was going to be built at the old golf course or bowlo site ?

Why did you think that?
A few media articles that you may quote that contained rumour and innuendo?
Where is the govt announcement?

Where is the govt announcement?

IIRC, the former mayor did strongly suggest that the old golf course would make a good site for the pools if they were to be relocated, however he also wanted the state government to contribute $50M towards the pools .

Exactly.
No official announcement.

I don't think the pool situation will stop or slow the project down.

The pools are partly built on stadium land.
Doesn't the pool significantly pre-date the Stadium?

Not saying the pool issue will slow down the redevelopment, but which bit is on Stadium land? Is the waterslide a post-1986 extension, encroaching on grounds granted to the Stadium Trust (that had been excised from Parra Park in general)?

And now there is no Mayor and no Councillors - so the chances of State Government giving $$ to the Council toward the cost of building a new replacement pool elsewhere are...?

I think so, i don't know exactly how it works.

Where the slide is and and an area behind the Cronin stand.

Good to see the State govt has bought Stadium Australia.
It means the SCG Trust doesn't get control and it's a shot across the bow of Stuart Ayres.
The state govt is serious about stadium infrastructure. They can now go ahead with their planned upgrade of ANZ.
Pirtek is also a long way along planning. It's almost a certainty now. Thank god there won't be another state election until after Pirtek is built. There's no way I'd be voting for a change of state govt now.
Mike Baird is a legend atm.

Even if they decided to cut let's say education or health budgets in half? I know that is unrealistic and I like the idea of a new stadium but it would be way down in the list of reasons I'd vote for someone if indeed it made the list at all

I think you're taking him too literally.

I think he's saying he likes the way Baird has been handling the Stadium initiative, more than wanting to keep him in because he's building a couple of new stadiums.

Yep. Exactly.
But it's not just the stadium infrastructure.

* North West Rail Link
* Sydney Metro extension to Bankstown under the harbour.
* West Connex.
* North Connex.
* Parramatta Light Rail
* Stadium upgrades

Infrastructure is finally being built after previous govt's ignored it for so long.

Well re-read his posts that's how it comes across so how else would I take it

All very good points suity and I think you are intelligent enough to decide how to vote on more than getting a new stadium
