Parramatta Stadium Rebuild and other stuff

Am genuinely interested in which leagues club plans those are, and what the people responsible for this story have to do with killing them.
PLC has had numerous plans for expansion of the main building over the years and more recently plans for the development of a hotel complex in the current outdoor carpark area (between the club and the stadium). There are also plans from NSW Govt. for the development of a new PCYC complex in the stadium ground on the side towards the club (northern side). All of these plans are either held up or cancelled due to challenges from the "friends of Parramatta Park".

As @Suitman and I have both shown with our images, the front bar of the Royal Oak and it's awning, were both set forward of the other buildings along Church St. As a result, the road widening and provision of a safe pedestrian area meant the re-alignment of part of Church St into what was previously the front bar area and the removal of the buildings awning. The Stone Real Estate, Star Market, Terrace Building and Aust. Post buildings all remained however a portion of the footpath was lost, as was the 8 parking spots between the pub and Stone Real Estate building.

Could the rear section of the pub remained - possibly, however that was largely the beer garden, gaming lounge and kitchen area so kind of pointless and would have not been functional. What did remain was the original (historic) Cobb & Co Coach Stabling area that formed part of the pub's beer garden.
Thanks. I totally get what you guys are saying. I remain unconvinced that they exhausted all avenues in the planning stages to keep the old girl. Water under the bridge now.

Meanwhile, private enterprise can't do what they want and are required to jump through numerous environmental and heritage hoops. This gate house adjacent to Eels HQ is of zero architectural significance, with houses like this scattered throughout post war Sydney suburbs. Yet somehow, it's been quarantined just because and will sit there for no particular reason for eternity. It should be dozzed and made available if not to us, for the public to be used in a more practical manner.

Ok, thanks.

But are we sure the people becrying destruction of heitage buildings in Parramatta are the same people who are "friends of Parra Park"?

This one is nuts... I've been in there 20-odd years ago, when it was the office for a community organisation. Very unaccommodating internal features as well, and I believed they moved at the first opportunity.

it's just a f**king house - and no where near as significant as stuff that was happily knocked down in the last 10-12 years by NSW Government.

The North Parramatta Residents Action Group are the people decrying destruction of heritage buildings in Parramatta, such as Willow Grove and the Royal Oak Hotel. Their spokesperson is highly active on the Friends of Parramatta Park Facebook page and it (the FoPP FB page) often reposts NPRAG content.

Based on this, I am going to assume they are the same or if not, closely aligned groups.

Thanks for outlining your reasoning...

Sharing content probably wouldn't stand up in court as evidence that the people are the same... like how I sometimes share news ltd content here for example... but I take your point.

Penriths new stadium seems to have been knocked on the head.

The new cheap ass government is going to waste 309 million at upgrades instead of paying the extra 100 mill for a new stadium.

BTW the Panthers should get the extra funds together and just get a new stadium built.

It was only a Lib election promise - despite trying to flash the cash the people of Penrith put the local Lib out on their arse in the election anyway.

It's amusing that Minns went to the election fully against this redevelopment of Penrith Stadium, pledging to spend money on schools and hospitals instead, but has now committed over $300 million to a suburban stadium that will get used for big matches only 12 times a year. Labor have now won the seat so have now started their pork-barreling to make sure they hold it next election.
Both the major parties are as bad as each other.

Indeed! I'm still pissed that Anastasia can blow 2.7 billion on The Gabba redevelopment (and counting) when there are far greater issues that need to be addressed. The hospital ambulance ramping issue is a disgrace and that's only one of many issues that need attention.

But according to one on here, Labor can do no wrong. The perfect party that we should vote for every election!! f**king lol.
