My guess is that The Gabba will blow out to beyond 3 Billion for those extra 5000 seats. It's a sham and a disgusting one at that. Anyone thinks I'm joking just take a drive along National Hwy 1 (Gulf Development Rd) and tell me where some of that money would be far better spent. But according to one on here, Labor can do no wrong. The perfect party that we should vote for every election!! f**king lol.
Now that’s a party everyone can get behind, even Pou and Bart ffs!!Bernie's parties with hookers and coke were pretty close.

Penriths new stadium seems to have been knocked on the head.
The new cheap ass government is going to waste 309 million at upgrades instead of paying the extra 100 mill for a new stadium.
BTW the Panthers should get the extra funds together and just get a new stadium built.
I didn't read it that way. I read it as a message for a) the agitators to back off b) cost blow outs to be blamed on poor planning by the former government and c) a sledge to the former government for outsourcing contracts to overseas based companies.Don't say I didn't warn you lot that this would happen. It hasn't been long, and the seeds of doubt are being sown. Broken promises.
Also, don't forget his promise that he would complete current projects but not commit to any more. Looks like that's also gone out the window.
Still no mention that he will continue with his promise of building Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2 either.
Same old - same old Labor. Still having their policies run by the unions.
Jo Haylen's comments are laughable. She has no f**king clue about transport.

So politicians playing politics.
Jobs for the boys?Has there ever been a govt job built where the budget didn't blow out ?
I don't know why they bother tendering out the work as they just rubber stamp all the cost variations as if they don't care.
Has there ever been a govt job built where the budget didn't blow out ?
Jobs for the boys?
in my experience its just incompetence
the attitude of NSW Public Works is that if they don't approve the cost variations, then it won't get built
May I ask - who first started the political post?
Yes, this is an infrastructure thread.
Why did you post the political post in the first place?
Off topic much?
Just on my thought bubble that Minns is playing politics, I thought that this was very strange by SMH.Minns is already full of so much shit.
He claimed today that City - West Metro was projected to be completed by 2025. That was never the case.
"The Metro West was slated to open by 2028 when it was announced by former premier Gladys Berejiklian, but was then delayed to 2030."

He has also claimed that the cost has blown out to 25 billion, yet this figure was announced in 2019. 60% over budget? I don't think so, and Chris, you knew this price years ago.
He also claimed that work hasn't started yet. Lol.
“I am faced with the situation where the project is nearly 60 per cent over budget and it hasn’t begun yet and the original timeline for completion is the mid-2020s which is obviously not going to happen.”
Future of Metro West under cloud as premier won’t rule out scrapping it
Chris Minns has not hosed down fears Metro West could be axed altogether, while advocates say, “Just get on with it”.www.smh.com.au
So, the project hasn't begun yet Chris? Who is he kidding??
Let's see where it is at atm.
Station boxes at SOP, Burwood North, The Bays are completed (These holes are massive - Could hold the volume of more than 50 Olympic sized swimming pools). Station boxes at Westmead, Parramatta and North Strathfield have been piled/ are being dug. Station caverns at Five Dock and Hunter St are well underway and building demolition at Pyrmont is well underway with shaft work to start Q4 23.
The Rosehill Service Facility site cavern has been dug and being prepared for TBM launch in Q4 23. The Clyde Maintenance/ Stabling Yard site has been cleared including moving the Parramatta Speedway to Eastern Creek.
Roadheaders are in the ground digging the access tunnels from the Clyde Maintenance/ Stabiling Yard to the line under Rosehill (Must be at least 50-100 metres in).
TBM's are in the ground from 'The Bays' station box. ×1 is currently more than 800 metres into its journey, the other is at least at 400 metres.
More than 20,000 tunnel segments have been produced at Eastern Creek.
Substantial utility works/ relocations, geo-tech monitoring, environmental safeguard works completed at all of the above sites.
So, work hasn't begun yet Chris? Lol.
And for the record, let's see all the work that hasn't begun yet. And let's see how the tunnel boring machines are progressing shall we?

"Why are there only four or five stations between Hunter Street and Westmead" was another quote.
He can't even count the number of stations on a currently under construction project.
I quite liked him and trusted him originally but unfortunately he is quickly proving why his party did not get my vote.
Same old Labor. Always doing f**k all.
