That video is impressive.

Yes, it's a pretty well put together promo. If the stadium and surrounds end up anything like that, it will be a real drawcard for Parramatta. I see no reason why it won't, hopefully.

The state govt has done a superb job throughout this process.
They have pretty much had a stadium designed taking into account the wishes from both RL and football fans which they gathered from several fan forums.
Everything from fans being as close as possible to the field, steep stands, outdoor pre-game food and entertainment options, access functionality, roof coverage, 2 screens, substantial corporate areas and function rooms, decent Wi-Fi (WTF?? - I go to a game to watch a match, not sit on my f**king mobile posting selfies on fb), etc.....
Pretty much everything that was requested by fans at these forums has been incorporated into the design, besides maybe a slightly larger capacity (35000) and the issue of safe standing, which I already hear is still pending approval. It's not a biggy anyway. There'll probably be flip up seats so they'll stand anyway.

Ok what does this mean ?

  • Highest C Value in Australia, and
  • The KOP

The Kop is famously known around the world from Anfield in England - a very large single tiered stand for active fans. That's all. Borussia Dortmand have an even bigger one which holds about 15000 called the Yellow Wall.
It's just a take on that.
C-Values are pretty much the angle of seating to the sight lines of the pitch.

Agreed mate.

I go past Suncorp Stadium every day on my way to and from work. For me it is the benchmark as far as RL stadiums go.

If the final product at Parramatta matches what they have shown in the video then Suncorp could very well be overtaken.

Exciting time to be a Parramatta fan, particularly those of you in Sydney.

How can it be said it might rival it when it is so much lower capacity? ... i know bums on seats isnt everything but its alot ... wifi, etc whatever - people watching an event is its main purpose

Can anyone post the actual link to that vid? I want to send it to someone.

Click on the video and highlight the link at the top. Copy and paste.

That's what I did to put it on here but it embedded the actual video, which was good anyway.

I suppose how often is Suncorp really full? Bronx games generally get mid 30k Max. Slightly smaller stadium plus higher, tighter stands probably means better atmosphere from fewer people.

It probably won't rival a full Suncorp o origin night, but your weekly games there's no reason it shouldn't

A full Suncorp on an origin night is a merkin of a place. Full of rum munching toothless QLD fans that have been bused in from all the loser parts of the state.

Give me the new Parra Stadium any day of the week.

Ok, I have put a space between the first h and t on the link so it wouldn't embed the video directly.
Just take that space out when you send it on.
Funnily enough, the link is currently saying the video doesn't exist. Maybe it's been taken off line?

Great stadiums aren't always about capacity.
This easily has the capacity to be the best rectangular stadium in the country.
As Baz said in a round about way, sometimes stadiums can be TOO big.

I could not agree me. Give me a full Moore Park over Homebush any day. But I think this new stadium at 20,000 plus on a normal day will be unrivalled.

I agree.
But even Moore Park is too big most of the time.

A stadium design like this though, even half full, will provide an amazing atmosphere.
