If it is true Stuart's heading our way, then we can't expect an announcement until after that 3rd SOO game.

So that's after our games v Penrith and Newcastle.

Or, the Board may dump Kearney beforehand, say that Arthurs *shudder* is acting in a caretaker role for a week, and then announce Ricky when it's "safe" to do so?

If our board sign stuart than they are a bunch of morons. I rate kearney better than him. This is nothing to get excited about.

I think kearney is a joke of a coach but the joke will be on us if we sign stuart. He is the ultimate club killer. I personally will be embarassed to have stuart linked to our club.

I hope you are wrong bartman

A swift appointment of Sticky may well secure some off-market players who are procrastinating.

Will we need a caretaker coach if SK gets the bullet ? Will cranky pants Arthurs be the man ?

So this article says SK had control over everything except the board, and yet is trying to pin the blame on the board and the players? Talk about an axe to grind

The one thing I sure of is that if they are going to appoint Ricky they should do so as early as possible to allow him to get to work on recruitment.

I still believe our outside backs needier penetration and work rate.
I would have seen Sam perrert as a great dining if he came reasonably priced.

I still don't think we get enough out of kick returns although having Burt costs is massively in that respect.

Then we need more punch in the back row and possibly props although that greatly depends on GUI and poore position.

The greatest dilemma though is how sandow combines with Hayne.

At the moment sandow is more often impeding Haynes involvement and his own impact has been minimal.

To unlock the best of both of them Is probably the biggest test to whoever coaches.

No doubt that Kearney is not obtaining that, and that it is secret impacting our success rate.

Tha would be the biggest question I would be asking any prospective coach.

I think Kearney has been addressing some of our systemic problems - but we aren't going to win much unless that gets sorted.

It pissed me of to hear Daley and ikin in recent weeks saying that hayne should forget his passim game and simply run.

His passing game is second to none. It is far superior to sandow and in the thurston category. Saying he should just run is way too simplistic IMO

Ultimately the Chairman and his Board have the job to get long term results and I doubt that they are influenced by comments on a forum by Jake the Snake, PouPou Escobar and some nuffy called Gronk. :sarcasm:

What I do fear is that the Board may make decisions based on getting re-elected in the not too distant future, rather than a tough decision for the long term

The mass hysteria isn't isolated to a few football forums. Media outlets run with the stories and create as much of the pressure as winning or losing does. The current board has proven themselves to be very much reactive rather than proactive.

I am more than certain that should Stuart be appointed it will be based as much on winning games as it will be being re-elected.

Agreed. I am surprised how one dimensional Sandow really is. His bag of tricks consists of a long kicking game (but no real short except cross kick to winger) and taking the line on. I dearly would love a 7 who could snag repeat sets like Cherry-Evans. I was watching C-E & Foran last night and was envious of the way that they would probe the line with the ball in two hands looking for runners. Sandow does not play like that.

What isnt in those stats his retention policy. YOu have also missed out on
2010 the year he was let go. They had won like 5 games up until round 20. He is overated & is suited to state of origin as those games are more about passion then tactical man management

I'm sure I missed out on a lot of variables. But it seems when his sides do well, it's because he inherited a good team, when he's gone badly, it's all his fault.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want him at the club (I voted for Taylor in the poll). I just don't think he would be the disaster some people think.

YOu will notice his record decline from after he gets control of retention of players.

The roosters had gould the first 3 years overlooikng everything. The minute stuart was on his own he destroyed them.

Cronulla was the same thing. SOme of his his decisions to release certain players for others outside the club were absolutely atrocious.

I hope the board has the guts to not be influenced by the media

Well, the same media put the Board where they are today...

Agree & for that the board leaked every little bit of information to them in 2010. Basically sacked a coach for them & hired one of there pals. Now the favours should end there. Stuart should never be allowed at our club.

I think the board is about even dont you think with the telecrap

I think that mutually beneficial relationship has hopefully now run it's course.

The problem is it's not just "hysteria" on forums or in the media about Kearney... it's the average fan at the game that's wondering why we persist with this coach. It's the casual fan that watches games on TV that can't understand why the coach can't get the best out of the players at his disposal. It suits some to paint all this as "hysteria", because they thought the board could do no wrong and publicly declared their endorsement of the move to bring in this coach, and so to admit the board picked a dud in Kearney then becomes a matter of pride.

I'm not a Stuart fan either, but Kearney needs to go and I'll take whichever experienced coach is available and willing to pick up the pieces - seeing as it seems we're now in a worse state than before Kearney took over.

Lets hope the reports a few weeks ago are true about roy being a big jason taylor fan

Mate, anyone will do I reckon.

Kearney was a fool to (reportedly) refuse coaching "assistance" when it was offered a month or more ago, and is responsible for his own demise.

Bart, are you sure it was a month or more ago? Can you provide proof?

Well it all depends on the definition of a month ME... some would call it 28 days and get very upset if the offer of coaching assistance was report only 27 days ago!

Thank you for pointing that out and of course I should be more thorough and provide proof before posting anything here. Silly me thinking we were just on an internet forum, and not in the recognised academic colloquium that we clearly all are....
