What annoys me most in relation to this year is that the fans have been kept in the dark in relation to the coach's future. It's not like there hasn't been any speculation. They knee jerked a press release about the supposed offer to Luke Lewis so why not give the fans some insight into what the plans are in relation to the coach ?

It reeks of incompetence and an overall lack of leadership.

Can you imagine how you drama queens would carry on if the club reasserted their support for the coach?

Yet they are happy to release information when it comes to talking about offering Supercoach a contract extension... I suppose it's a positive we haven't heard any news about that for a while.

Emotionally it's not something the fans are going to like, but emotion shouldn't be a factor in persisting with this necessary structural change.
What necessary structural change - employing a coach who can't get the best out of the players at his disposal?

Sorry Avenger, to think that the board should be up front and tell the fans the direction to which the club is heading regarding the coaching issues is akin to expecting them to listen to us when they head in to negotiations with players. We can criticise their record in regard to the coaching and the running of the club at the AGM but to want to be privy to what is happening? Some of you guys on here need to walk away and have a break.

So u know for a fact what each and every player is on, money wise????

I know which players we've gotten rid of mid-contract, which ones we've re-signed, which ones we've brought to the club on big money, which ones we've missed out on by not offering them too much, and which one knocked us back even though we offered him more than his current club.

I don't need to know the exact contract values to see how we're prioritising the structure of our salary cap. If you were smart you'd understand.

Why then set a precedent and publish a media release re: the purported offer made to Luke Lewis ?

You've been bitter about the lack of information since the media leaks dried up. Honestly, no precedent has been set. They denied the reported salary but didn't deny their interest. .

As for amateur hour, wouldn't it be more amateur to start discussing regarding who they see as a possible replacement or the continuation of Kearney's contract in the media?

Get a life guys, it's quite refreshing.

Just to remind every merkin not to believe everything they read in the media.

It was an article on the parraeels.com.au website Pou. You'll see it there with all the other press releases and articles about players etc published by the club

I'm bitter about coming last and winning only 9 games in 2 seasons. His predecessor won 10 in one season and was considered to be not good enough. However we persist when no other club in any sport would. The coach and the front office are a joke.

And who says they aren't doing anything about it? Just because it isn't in the news doesn't mean nothing is happening.

They should have done something before the season was lost. Anyone could see that he was way over his head but they kept him on because they sacked Anderson and hoped that he would turn it around. They now look like fools and will have to pay out another coach.

Our performances now reflect our recruitment or lack of it. It has become a vicious circle and I squarely blame the board.

I didn't hear you complaining about the recruitment before the season. In fact, you were quite happy about it.
