Thing is, Lodge didn't request a release (I think). He just said he wouldn't play, and to us said he wouldn't go to NZ. Then we got soft as butter and said well we'll release you, rather than we'll call your bluff and see you in NZ for pre-season if you're activating your player option.

Brisbane seemed happy to accommodate Tallis & organise for the Thoroughbreds to ensure he wasn't behinbd financially for the season he threw his tantrum. I wonder why some brisbane fans have turned their responses 180 degrees?

In saying that, i agree with the clubs stance, sign a contract, you honour it. However if he wants out and decides to plod, brisbane are stuck paying someone 800k who doesn't want to be there, and likely playing QLD Cup. Surely Brisbane have learned the lessons they needed to re: paying overs. Lodge, Barba, Milford etc.
