The plot thickens. Apparently the ankle surgeon that Penrith got their info now concurs with John Mayhew and Chris Hanna that the surgery could be post-tour and still give Tony Puletua plenty of time to be ready for round 1.

Your argument now boys?

Game, set and match.

Can you link your source for that please?

Thats tops coming from a moderator, but then again your a Penrith fan so I would expect any less....

I do believe Penrith have confirmed they will hit him in the pocket if he does go....

Man you guys dont want to believe anything about your club that proves you are wrong....

The guy has said on Radio and in the papers that he wants to tour and Penrith have not denied anything, ifact he has said that tony will not tour...

"Basically what Mick has said to me is that if Tony wishes to tour against the club's wishes there will be legal and financial ramifications for Tony because he'll be in breach of contract.

Good on you Penrith take legal action against your best forward HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Carl the part you quoted and the line that starts with *BASICALLY* says it all ... doesn't it! ;-) It's a lot of push and shove from the New Zealand to get Penrith to back off. From what I am reading Penrith are acting in Tony Puletua's best interest and the very fact that Tony has not said a word about this or even been allowed by the New Zealand officials to be interviewed ... says that Tony is accepting what Penrith have put forth. Give it a rest Carl ... at least until we have heard from Tony himself.

And just FYI ... Big Mick is not a moderator of the Penrith section. I am not going to excuse him for what he wrote, it was used as an example to make a point, but I have edited it due to it being a personal attack on you Carl.

Dougsall with all respect Tony has an ankle injury that needs surgery. It's his injury that is holding him back. He was advised by the best Ankle surgeon in Australia to have it done immediately or risk an early retirement. He's 25. Retirement at that age would more fearful over anything else and is most likely the reason he is reluctantly decided to have surgery on Nov. 21.

Now you are talking sh*t maybe you should delete that!!

They said their was no risk of the injury getting worse if managed probaly...

I am speaking sense Carl. The only reason you would like me to delete it is because it is more realistic than anything you are saying at the moment. You are being too emotional on all this and you are not taking into consideration, like New Zealand, the players long term well being. I watched him on the news tonight. I wonder why they are not interviewing him over his thoughts on this? The answer to all of our questions is with that.

Why do you think he wont talk on camera!!

If he says he still wants to go then Penrith will fine him big time, if he says no I better go back and have the operation the Kiwi fans will think he doesnt care about country but his club.

If the D was up to Tony, why did Penrith come out and say that if he goes he will be taken to court and fined bluh bluh bluh..

THIS IS A ROOSTERS CLUB IN THE MAKING, ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THEMSELVES AND NOTHING ELSE IN RUGBY LEAGUE.

Thank god we have clubs like Brisbane, Canberra, Wests, and Newcastle that care about the game Internationaly, unlike the Panthers and Roosters.

Carl, that is nonsense. Penrith have never stated anywhere and they cannot state that they will fine him if he merely just speaks his mind about wishing to play. We all know that Tony *wishes* to play but there is a hurdle for him.

And how fickle are the New Zealanders if they *choose* to believe that Tony doesn't care about playing for his country if he states he must go back and have surgery.

Fair dinkum. Talk about losing the plot.

That is totally incorrect.

Tony Puletua was on IRN radio in New Zealand saying he wished to tour and was disappointed in Penrith pulling him home. So the "I'll wait till I hear it from Tony" fracas can all end once and for all.

Both Pearson and Cordtz spoke to Leary after forwarding Mayhew's report to him. Cordtz pointed out that Penrith's own specialist suggested the decision to tour be left to Puletua

There was a better article that spelt it out more, but I cannot find it. Basically, now the Penrith doctor is saying it should be up to Puletua, which would effectively mean it doesn't make a difference either way.

Did anyone notice Tony limping with about 15 to go in the match? he looked alright.

Look i'm sick of f**king arguing. let the guy f**king play, get injured and come over and miss half the season and he can retire 2-3 years earlier than he should because of two f**king New Zealand matches.

Quite Frankly i'm over everything. The whole thing was just handled dumb! by both sides!

I know someone that had an ankle injury. He had an operation and thought all was ok. He started walking on it too soon and then had another operation to have it PERMANENTLY IMMOBLISED! Is this what you kiwi's want for one of your international boys??? I know I don't wnat that to happen to one of my Panther boys. It is a risk. Look at Marty Lang. He had to retire due to a chronic ankle injury. If T doesn't have this operation he may have to cut his career short just as Marty did. Marty is only 29, Girds kept going til he reached 32 and there have been others that have played well into their 30's. I'm sorry but T is too good a player to have an early retirement forced upon him just becasue NZRL wanted him to play in a test match when he was 25.

Bluh bluh bluh is that all you can come up with?? gee its going to casue so much damage then why did he play in the finals and they are letting him play the first test?

Because Penrith want him freash next season thats why, Penrith are just in the game for them selves and they dont care about nothing but their own club...hmmmmmmmmmsmells like a Rooster Club

What, you don't think an immobilsed ankle is anything serious??? Which planet do you live on? Think about it, not being able to flex your foot EVER AGAIN!!!! Not being able to run properly, walk properly. Yeah, it's the best I can come up with. D***head!

I think some people tend to forget that not only is Rugby League a game but but also a business. So of course the club were thinking of themseleves to some extent, if you were paying big bucks for a player who was called up to represent his country and he also had a serious injury which if agrivated could see him sidelined for a while wouldn't you want him not to play rather than pay him to warm a seat in the grand stand for half of the season?

big mick the penrith panthers CEO was on the radio sport (in new zealand) during the week and he said they would go down the legal and financial ways.

tony doesn't have to go if he doesn't want to, the point is penrith have told him not to go with threatening him with fines

That may be the case but, what are the long term affects. Players suffer from things like arthritis and the like once they retire. If his ankle requires surgery then it must be a bad injury. He may be able to play NOW, but what is his ankle going to be like in the future. Again, think about Martin Lang and his ankle injury.

blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah...

I'm soooooo sick to death of this s hit.

If Tony and Joe want to go play for someone else when their contracts expire.....
then so be it.........tough s hit.........bye bye.

Penrith will survive. It survived the loss of Satts..........it will survive the loss of Girds
and Lang.........and if need be it will survive the loss of Tony and Joe too.

Players come and players go whether we like it or not.

Both of their surgeries may be a success and then again..........they may not.......so be it.

I don't give a s hit any more. I'm sick to death of the entire stupid subject.

Thanks to all the viciousness and crap that I've read and listened to in the last
week on this subject.............my only interest in the Tri-Nations from here on in,
is in me hoping that the Kiwis get there arses kicked big time.

Oh and I used to not mind the Warriors at all.........but after the vile crap that has
been spewed by you warrior fans about Penrith........I now hope that the Warriors
continue to hog the bottom of the ladder and play like shit, because I now hate
them just as much as any of you morons hate Penrith.

I couldn't give a flying fig whether you have a soft spot for them or not.

With the vile attitudes that have been shown by the kiwi fans on this forum
so far, I'd rather you didn't.
