He is only playing the Penrith fan gimmick because he's realized how easily people are triggered by them

Just need to be a little more subtle with your trolling attempts, keep at it son, you'll get there

That is not true; I've been a Panthers fan since my dad put a Panthers bib on me when I was having my first solid meal. I can show you the picture. It is a great time to be a Panthers fan even through all the haters jealousy. I Love how the Panthers play the game. It’s an exciting brand of football. Dangerous from anywhere on the field, both edges are electric. It’s hard not to be impressed by them.

The other carry-on is annoying. Somewhat disrespectful. But they aren’t alone in that area. They are similar to other “wannabe gangstas”

I’m wondering how much of this rubbish about the Panthers is simply a media beat up? It all seems to have blown up from last weekend’s game, ie I’m not aware of any “we hate Penrith stories” in the weeks before that.

Penrith is exactly the same as any other NRL Club. They’re capable of playing some great football, they’re capable of playing badly, their players are capable of doing stupid things and their players are capable of dog acts.

Right now, the football they’re playing is lights out every week, so when a player does something stupid or illegal, it really stands out – then tall poppy syndrome kicks in.

But they back it up by playing quality rugby league. So best of luck to them. As the great Tana Umaga once said “we’re not playing tiddlywinks”.

Im going today to see my team today against the Bulldogs and cheer, cheer, cheer my Panthers on.

Lol love your work. You are awesome. The haters will come for the Penrith Panthers like they always do. But WE are Strong!!! We have stared down these bullies before. And we will not submit to them. I urge all my fellow bullied Penrith Panthers fans to STAND FIRM

Together, we are unstoppable. And the "soft boiled" who want to attack us will NOT weaken us. We wil fight them on the football field, WE will stand up to them on the internet sites, WE will wear our colours with PRIDE in the streets. And WE, the bullied Penrith Panther fans will NEVER ever surrounded to the lunatic fringe of haters.

We have a claim now to being the BEST TEAM EVER

Winning record
The Panthers are currently 12 from 12 in the 2021 season, having beaten a few lightweights but also a couple of heavyweights, including the Storm, in their first 12 games.

Only the Manly Sea Eagles of 1995 had a better start to the season, starting off 15-0. The Panthers have a fantastic chance of starting the season 14-0 with match-ups against the bottom-feeding Bulldogs, Wests Tigers and Sharks in the next three match-ups.

Looking past this, they have two match-ups with both the Roosters and the Eels to go and one more match against the Storm. These will be their toughest opponents over the second half of the season and will be the teams that may stop them from going 24-0.

The last time we had an undefeated season was St George in 1959, so it has been a long time between drinks.

Ivan-Cleary-755x515.jpg

How far can Ivan take Penrith in 2021?

Attack
The 2001 Parramatta Eels scored the most points in a season ever with 943 points. That works out as an average of 32.5 points per game.
Currently, the Panthers have scored 364 points on the season, which averages out to 33 points per game. They are on track to smash the record held by Parramatta and with a game up next against the Bulldogs, could put themselves in a dominant point-scoring position.

They have no shortage of try-scoring options and both their halves are capable of scoring and setting up tries.

Defence
While the record for fewest points conceded in a season will never be matched (41 in 1909 by the South Sydney Rabbitohs), the Panthers this season have only conceded 84 points in their 12 games, good for an average of 7.1 points per game.

This is simply astonishing in the modern era and a fantastic defensive record. They have held three teams scoreless this season and the most points they have conceded in a game was 16 to the Manly Sea Eagles, less than half of the Panthers’ average points scored total per game.

But I think we also need to take the quality of the opposition into account. There’s no question Penrith are the standout team this year but since 2019 there have been a remarkable number of mediocre teams in the competition. Last season nobody outside the top 6 could realistically have been considered a chance to make it deep into the finals, let alone win the premiership, and this season the number of contenders looks even smaller.

The Panthers look like an ominous team. Any one in the team can score a try. I haven’t seen anything like it. They’re called arrogant for a reason because you can’t find any other words to describe them. I don’t know if you can compare them to St. George in the 50s and 60s but I can compare them to Souths in the 60s. After losing the 65 grand final, they came back and won in 67, 68, lost in 69 and won in 70 and 71. And what happened afterwards was the team was gouged for years to come with former Souths players playing roles in the Manly teams and Easts teams until they got the wooden spoon in 1975. Matt Burton, who is just dynamite and should have been play Origin except for a Freddy brain fade, will be a Bulldog next year, first of many players maybe to go looking for greater rewards elsewhere. I see Penrith winning at least four premierships in the next few years and we should just sit back and enjoy there awesomeness

And as for us Penrith Panther fans , we will just still have to put up with the day to day abuse. Grow strong my Penrith Panther fna brothers and sisters. Lets grow strong together.

It’s ironic when you hear “Tall Poppy” & Penrith in the same sentence. I was there the day that Manly put 70 points on us. I also remember being in thr Penrith Leagues Club most weekends in the early 70’s . It was known as Penrith Park back then & it only had a very very small grandstand. The club had a games room with a snooker & table tennis table. It was laughable. Fast forward to today & compare the Penrith set up with Manly & it’s hard to begrudge the Panthers their success as obviously a lot of hard work both on & off field has created our position. Now Penrith is the No 1 place to go to watch footy and party afterwards. Penrith Panther fans can stand firm and be proud as we come out and feel comfortable to let all the haters and doubters know, we are the most trendy thing in the extended Sydney area. We, the Penrith Panther fans are the biggest trendsetters in the world now. All of the others want to be us and your ladies and wives and girlfriends want to be with us. Being Penrith is cooler than the other side of the pillow.

Ive only ever watched a few games of AFL in my life. I don't understand the rules. The current Penrith team is just a credit to our Head of Performance. Our fitness levels are better than anyone else, we have had some crazy pre season training the past two seasons. Our defence has skyrocketed from the worst tackling side in 2019 to the best tackling and defensive side this season. If you think their players coming up from the reserve grade are going to be a problem, look no further than the NSW Cup ladder. Penrith are also undefeated. In fact, in total for both comps Penrith have conceded less points total, than 12 other NRL teams alone. Players coming up from the lower grades will not be an issue. Bear in mind this is one of youngest averaged sides to play, and one of the most inexperienced sides.

Penrith fans who have coped abuse and bullying from others for years and years and years have every right to be proud of our team and to shout it on the highest rooftops. WE are the BEST!!

You must of been very young being in the club on many weekends in the early 70’s seeing that your dad put a Panther bib on you as a baby and we joined in 67 ?

I started in the Panther Cubs program for kiddies. Even in kindergarten I got abused for being a Panther fan. We Panthers fans have suffered all our lives from bullies.

Penrith had the team and the form to win it last year, but put in a uncharacteristic, mistake riddled first half of the Grand Final which cruelled their chances. That is the one fear that they need to overcome in 2021. They are a year on and have a stronger squad than last season , and the halves have gone to another level. As for the Storm , they too are great team, but they too are yet to win anything without Cameron Smith at the helm. This will be their test if they make the GF.

Do Panthers have the depth to cover injuries that Strom have displayed in recent weeks? Because again, I feel this year’s Flag will be either Storm or Panthers, decided by availability of key personnel. We can only hope they both hit the big one with a fully fit list so that the winner is whichever side has that little bit extra on the day, because at full strength, I can’t split them.

If only Olam had passed the ball instead of going for the line lol
Panthers are doing great and their long suffering fans have every right to be enjoying every second of it, it will probably be fleeting and long time before this happens again so good luck to them as one of the smaller clubs in the NRL. If its not against Strom in the GF then they'll have my support for the big show.

Thanks Perth Red. You are a real star and us Panthers fans who have been long suffering, who have been bullied ad pher Nauti am really appreciate your kind words and generous observations.

The Penny Penrith Panthers obscene winning streak has been going on for so long that it is easy to forget just how ridiculous their form has been over the last two seasons.

Saturday’s 30-4 win over the Bulldogs was their 12th win on the trot this year, making them just the third team in the history of rugby league in Australia to start a season with 12 straight wins. That is am amazing win record.

Manly went 15-0 in 1995 and Souths went 12-0 way back in 1925, but this is the first time a team has done it in the NRL era, which began back in 1998.

The Panthers also achieved their 15th straight win at Penrith becoming the first team to win 15 straight at a venue since the Melbourne Storm did at Olympic Park in 2006-07. Again, blessed are the meek for they will inherit the Kingdome of god.

The Panthers have now won 29 of their last 30 games following their 17-game winning streak last season and have only lost the 2020 Grand Final to the Storm in that time.

However the Panthers face a huge test against the resurgent Tigers in Round 13 given that they will have a number of players out due to State of Origin representation.

If the Panthers can somehow remain undefeated through a gruelling Origin period they can realistically target an unimaginable undefeated season. OMG! Surely that is something that Perth Red and all true NRL fans want to see.

We need all the support of all NRL fans who want to see our amazing record continue.

I guess at the moment, WE are all Penrith Panthers fans bonded in a very very special way.

This year the Panthers may well win and deserve the Minor Premiership, and if it were not for the Storm hot at their heels, the Premiership is theirs for the taking.
The Panther’s NSW cup side is, ahem, unbeaten after 9 games (2 byes). The Panther’s Jersey Flegg side are second with two losses. I don’t think depth is an issue, but I’m also not sure they are as good as the Roosters and the Storm at keeping their systems working when so many players are out.

I hope we never have to find out. The Cleary/Luai combo is fantastic but I don’t know if they could pull off a Easts/Storm wins faced with the same situation of not only halves but key forwards as well. Not that I am wishing that on them, I’m really enjoying watch them go around and the fun they are having in the process.

As A Penrith Panthers fan, alone and together we have suffered great abuse. I have received a lot of messages from fellow Penrith Panthers fans who are in the same position. I share your pain. I am setting up a Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Penrith Panther fans and I am happy for any Penrith Panther fans who have been abused to join.

No matter who you are or what your age is, cyber bullying stays with you. The pain lingers, but that's nothing compared to the memory that will always be there. Then there are the parts of your life that you let the people access when you still trusted them. Those ways to get through to you will remain open. You let yourself be vulnerable, sharing stories about your life and past that you would tell any close friend, but now you see that the 'close friend' part was an illusion, your personal details are in dangerous hands and could be shared with others in any way they please.

You're always on edge, because even if you dont hear anything for months, any day they can get at you again, whenever they feel like it. And blocking? It only goes so far. If they can't get straight to you, you can bet they will get around. In most cases you can't expect your new friends to block your old ones.

Cyber bullying is psychological abuse and the effects are serious and long-lasting.

Be kind, and treat people the way you would like to be treated. That's all I can ask and hope for.

While the season is only half-way completed, if the Panthers can keep up their current level of play, there is no reason why they cannot finish the season being compared to some of the great teams of all time.

They may go undefeated for a season, they might finish with the best scoring average ever, Nathan Cleary has a chance to score the most points ever in a season, Brain To’o might run for more metres than anyone has ever done before.

It’s all on the table, and I, for one, will be watching in awe.

Being our number 1 fan & all I thought you would know our NSW Cup team got lapped by Mounties on Saturday arvo. Still on top of the table though which is nice.
