Just to clarify that, we are not obsessed with clarifying anything. The clarity comes out in our teams' play when we get the ball or are defending. Some very good Rugby League judged have described the 2021 Penrith Panthers as pure Clarity.

Unfortunately old Acne Face will be susceptible to another hit until he goes under the knife. So while the rehab might get him back on the field this season, there is no guarantee, he will stay on it.

On NRL360 last night, Benji Marshall reckoned he had a similar shoulder injury and did the 4-6 week rehab and came back that season and reinjured his shoulder and didn't finish out the season.

So, just because old Acne Face comes back; doesn't mean he is going to last the year out.

You have to take into account Benji is soft and Cleary is from Penrith.

From a personal perspective, I got on Tom Trbojevic to win the Daly M when he first came back from the hamstring issues and he was 50-1, Ive kept backing him and now with old Acne Face out of the way, nothing and I mean nothing will stop Tommy T from being gloriously crowned as the best player in the NRL for 2021 and from me collecting on a massive bet.

I’ve never seen a fan base as obsessed with clarifying games as panthers ones

‘Well player X was out for us and player O had a bad night sleep so really that game isn’t included’

It wouldn’t surprise me if they have their own table they’ve drawn up to show the ‘real’ standings

Panthers are reigning premiers in their minds. The Penrith psyche knows no bounds.

Storm also didn't have Harry Grant so it would be a totally different game in the finals with different conditions and different personal. I doubt past performances would have any bearing.
I assume he was playing for your side at that time, or was he injured then?

Will the Penrith fan base get behind Burton now after they turned on him during their losing spree?
Personally I think he’ll fit in seamlessly.

They turned on May... he's the merkin getting a free ride when he shouldn't be near the NRL.

Burton is still awesome. But he's a better ball runner than game manager at the moment. Has the skillset of a great half though. Definitely works better when his halves partner is not useless like May was.

We had worse than that in 2014 & still knocked your lot over week 1 of the finals.
Looking at that specific game, who are you suggesting would be in the top 17 that wasn't available that day? Peter Wallace is the only one that stands out to me.

So how did Cleary actually injure his shoulder?

In the run of the game.... Papalii and co on numerous occasions (especially in the first half) would accost him after kicks and drag him to the ground. Not late hits, more roughing him up... No one mentioned it in the run of play as the cameras panned downfield but it seemed a deliberate targetting exercise....

No.
He made a half break and turned his body to perform a one handed off load to Teddy. He landed awkwardly with a defender on top of him. Just one of those freak injuries that could happen at any time.

Well what we've seen speaks for itself, its the new normal, the new status quo and we, the freedom loving people of Australia just have to get used to it and accept, there is no longer any freedoms in the world any more!!! lockdowns now the norm, smug politicians telling us we can't leave our houses, people being carried down the escalates at Parramatta shopping centre for not wearing a mask and there is no relief by watching sport which has also become as political as the rest of the world and not only that seemingly the NRL has apparently been taken over,

" conquered " if you will...by a master race of 'Smug Penrith Panthers', who not only smash the opposition on the scoreboard but painstakingly spend time telling the opposition players how terrible they are and how the opposition's team fans that they are clowns for having any passion in following their team at all;

it's difficult to tell from this vantage point if they will consume the captive NRL teams or merely enslave them....one thing is for certain there is no stopping them...
and I for one welcome our new Panther Overlords
Covid has come and destroyed our free world so politicians now think they can control everything...and destroy any one who does not obey.

And the smug Penrith Panthers feel the same way about the takeover and destruction of the NRL.

Obey, accept and do what your told. Or ELSE!!!

It happens after nearly every downfield kick or midfield bomb in every game now. Have really noticed it this season. Must be a tactic to help create a staggered defensive line on zero tackle I'd say. They either slowly take the kicker to ground or at least hang onto them for 5 or 6 seconds. The refs should start penalizing it because it also takes out the option of the kicker to chase his own kick.

I hear ya...

It's another drawback of one referee on the field.... he's gotta take off after the kick n can't be expected to see this kind of stuff..

Touchies? Potentially but they are limited by a boundary and have to chase themselves....

Bunker - for mine the less game interference the better... for me - they should only get involved if the on-field ref calls for them to check a try-scoring play, or a captains call. Not stick their nose in when not asked to..

So what should the penalty be for "unnecessary roughness" or holding the kicker.... ?

How about the kicking team the gets the ball back where it hit the ground, restart the set. Yes it's another rule change (and the ridiculous amount of rule changes is something I'm against - so risk sounding hypocritical) however this is one that doesn't change the fabric of the game - it purely penalises teams who are effectively taking an opponent out of play to their advantage - as you say he's out of the defensive line for multiple tackles as a result.
