Does anyone else remember when Sportsbet paid out for the dragons to win the minor premiership early?

We fell off a cliff that season, bundled out of the finals in straight sets.

Not to say that this will necessarily happen to Penrith, but they could follow a similar trajectory over 3 years. Getting close year 1 but not quite getting there. Winning the comp the second year. Looking fantastic for most of the third year then spiraling at the end.

It’s hard to stay on top of this comp for repeated seasons. A couple of injuries to key players in the next few weeks and a bit of disruption inside the club would bring them right back to the pack.

Sean O’Sullivan and Kurt Falls are honestly going to have to play out of their skins in the next five rounds, or we risk not only losing the Minor Premiership, but also slipping to 6th and we’ve got a tough run home.

Given Cowboys are on 26 and a worse for and against. Would need to win every game to jump us
The only other team that could possibly catch us is Sharks but with a 107 for and against..

Slightly off with Cows points, but the premise remains and I agree with you.

Let’s put it this way; if the Cows can beat the Roosters and Souths (both in Sydney), and then us in the final week, while we only win one of our last 6 games, then the Cows deserve to be MPs.
