Perfect albums

Okay, so we all know there are sh*t albums, decent albums, good albums and great albums but very rarely are there perfect albums. Most great albums even have at least one song that isn't that great which means they're not perfect.

So what are your perfect albums?

Mine:

Ocean Machine - Biomech
Opeth - Morningrise
Alice in Chains - Dirt
Jane's Addiction - Ritual de lo Habitual
Van Halen - 5150
Immortal - At The Heart of Winter
Sting - Ten Summoner's Tales

Its funny 'cause I agree that Ritual is the more 'perfect' by this definition but I find nothings shocking is still the much better album overall.

for me the standouts are
visual audio sensory theatre - vast
the honeymoon is over - the cruel sea
and
august and everything after - counting crows

not only do I love every song but the albums are perfectly constructed, the songs flow into each other perfectly.

Nothing's Shocking has a certain quality to the production that creates a great atmosphere but to me, songs like Pigs in Zen don't quite match up to the brilliance of 'Ted Just Admit It', 'Summertime Rolls', 'Mountain Song' and 'Jane Says'.

It certainly is a great album though.

Not a bad list although Master of Puppets would have to be my pick of Metallica albums. All great songs.

Number of The Beast is superb although my personal Maiden favs are Seventh Son and Powerslave.

Same with RATM - I prefer the self-titled and Public Enemy I prefer Fear of a Black Planet. But each to their own.

Kiss - good albums. Alive III is arguably the best live album I've heard too.

U2 can piss off though :D

Who said Oasis? You're banned! Banned I say!!! I despise Oasis.

I need time to think about this, but for starters:

* The Bends, Kid A - Radiohead (OKC would qualify except for Fitter...)
* Hi Fi Way - You Am I
* Nevermind - Nirvana (I know...the irony...it is a good album with no dud tracks on it though...)
* Lost Souls - Doves

Kid A is the perfect album when layed up in bed sick .
It's pissing down outside and your under the covers all warm.

It's Kid A or Floyds final cut.

Steve wasn't on board with Zappa at that point - Vai's first album was 'Ship Arriving too Late To Save A Drowning Witch' (1982) while Joe's was made in 79'. Vinne was though :D
