Perry off to the Cowboys?

Barry Tooheys column today says Perry has been in Townsville negotiating a lucrative three year deal with the Cowboys, they see him as an ideal replacement for Paul Rhauhi, he also says that the Roosters are showing interest in him. Also read that Johns may consider going around again after his contract is up this next season, and that he'll talk about it this time next year ( you may be correct RABK). The Knights are looking at two local players, Northern Blues lock Chris Bailey, and Maitland prop Danny Vaughan.

Chris Bailey was selected in the NSW Residents side to play the Curtain Raiser on Wednesday night.

Its a pretty good efffort considering all the players usually come from NSW Premier League sides.

Go figure? We free up $220,000 from Josh Perry/// and spend it on two locals at $30k each? Whats going on?

I bet Josh Perry will go to the Cowboys and rediscover his lost form. They hav one of the hardest trainers in the comp in Billy Johnstone, who will get the best out of him. He will knock the laziness out of Josh and probably make him one of the most feared forwards in the comp................

Joey stated in the S-H:

S-H: Your contract ends next year. Will that definitely be the end of your career?

AJ: Maybe not. I'll decide this time next year. I don't think people realise how tough the game is and it's getting tougher all the time. Players are doing so many weights and they're strong and fit. You get hit around so hard every week and do so much running because the game is so fast, it'd be a big ask to keep playing. But I'll see if I still enjoy it. The big key will be if I still have the motivation to train hard. If I have, I'll keep playing. The next big challenge is getting the Knights back up there. People probably question whether I have any challenges left. Well, I have. I've got plenty. I want to help our young players at the Knights become exceptional first-graders and then representative players. There are a few who have the capacity to do that.

S-H: Does it hurt to see the Knights struggling?

AJ: It breaks my heart and it breaks the hearts of all the old Knights players.

Yep and Billy Johnstone will turn him into the most feared prop in the game and we will be left shaking our heads. Thanks for nothing Perry you dog.

I think he will only sign another contract if things are looking up. If we are still cellar dwellers with little chance of improving then he won't want to bust his guts for nothing but a wooden spoon.

If he see's improvement in the team eg a top 8 finish next year, some good signings in 2006 and some of our great juniors ready to step up then i think he will go around with the hope of delivering one more premiership up the f3.

Look, i don't wanna say to much because these blokes could turn out to be two really good players but is this money well spent. I mean Kurt Hancock......great sigining that was.....

If Perry does go the money should be used to keep Smith and sign a young prop....theres gotta be some good ones out there.

Doesn't that say more about our coaching and conditioning staff about their ability to motivate players. Yeah Josh needs to change his attitude as well but if we got the right coaching and conditioning staff, we would not be in the position we are in. I am sure, if we were in the top 4, the attitude of our players would have changed

I have been saying for a while I think he will go there, they know they have the trainers go get him in great form, and imagine Webb plus Perry both in good form running at you. Just unfortunate we cant seem to get the best out of our players :(.

Well why would he stay with the Knights after having put up with all the sh*t he gets from everyone in Newcastle!

Webb plus Perry

how many penalties a game will they give away?

COULD be a great combo though, if they turn cakeman around the same way they did charlie.

Would be a bigger gain for them than loss for us. Because they could probably (and it isn't a given) turn him around, whereas with the current off-field team im not certain we can.....

If he wants to go, let him go I say... but having said that, I would still like him to commit to turning it around here - would show alot of pride on his behalf, and a willingness to take the hard road (for possibly better results).

Did we give him sh*t in 2001 and 2002 when he was going great guns?

RubberDucky / Josh

When he last signed a contract, his form was good and the contract reflected that.

Last year his form was sh*t .....his words not mine, this year he misses 8+ games injured through punching a bloke, hes back a couple of weeks and is then suspended for a lengthy period of time.

What value has this bloke given to the club in the last two years............f**k all.

So we ask him to accept a contract that is more than fair based on the service (or lack of) hes given to the club in the last two years and he carries on like a good sort.

The blokes done nothing for 2 years and ITS THE CLUBS AND FANS FAULT!!!!!!!!

Get your hand off it RD / Josh.

Grow up and be accountable for your actions and performance.

Perry has all the talent in the world but just has to turn that talent into performance on the footy field. Something he was great at in he's younger days. But i don't know what has happened to him. I could see from a while back that he's intensity and desire to play well had dropped off. He was taking less hitups and not breaking the advantage line as often has he used to. He has shown glimpses of some of his previous self, but when a player knows that he has not been playing well and the club is nearly bankrupt, is offered a modest contract based on performance in the past year or so and rejects it, that person should not be playing for the Knights

I'm not referring to the comments about his form, I’m talking about all the other abusive irrelevant comments people have made over the years. These words are merely aimed at abusing and making fun of him for no particular reason, just imagine how you would feel.
