It's all about balance and technique. There are tonnes of people who can do 100 pushups but can't even do one one-arm pushup. I taught myself how to do them by doing them with my hand on an elevated surface, I kept lowering the surface until I good do them on the ground, next step is feet elevated and then three second holds at the bottom of the movement and finally as part of S&M pushups.

It's when you start up in the classic pushup position and put your left leg in the air and your right arm in the air hold it for free seconds and then do the same for your right leg and left arm.

Hit a PB for squats yesterday. 95kgs for 5 reps. Nowhere in the league of some of you guys but I've only been doing squats for a month or so. Really enjoying them.

Front squats scare the f**k out of me though.

Oh I've done them. Soccer training we usually go from bridge position to one arm off the ground then the leg. They're hard but good.

I need to do a bit of the core type stuff. Dead bugs and bridges and the ones wher eyou hold your legs 6 inches off the ground.

Hanging leg raisers and hanging Iron Crosses are my favourite, but for the iron crosses you need to hold two hanging ropes not a bar.

Getting so much better at dead heaves (dead hang pullups). So stoked with that. My goal is to be able to be able to pump out ten with minimal effort.

Just ran 14km (City to Surf distance) in 91min. Not too bad for a 95kg bloke who only started running a week before christmas.

Well i got back from the states after xmas weighing a hefty 100kgs thanks to a diet of buffalo wings and pretzels whilst over there. Im 6 foot 2 so i wasnt massive but definetley overweight and needed to change my habits. Was pretty disappointed in myself so decided to try the Dukan diet as well as do at least 1-2 hours a day of excercise. Weighed in on Saturday after 6 weeks of the new 'me' and i have lost 15kgs (im just on 85kgs). I have never felt better in my life!!!!! I have joined a boxercise class that i do 3 mornings a week and the gradual changes in my fitness levels have been noticeable.

I am on phase 2 of the dukan diet but i have green vegies every night as the day on day off with vegies was making it hard to.......... Well do number 2's!!! I had a blow out on saturdat at soundwave as i had about 10 carlton drys over the day but the amount of excercise i didnt that day, I hope i burnt some of it off!!!! I wanna get down to about 82kgs and then tone up but thus far 15kgs I think has been a pretty decent achievement.

So two months in, it's all going pretty well. My arms have shrunk a little I think. My waist is at 25 inches (started at 26.) Was feeling a little bloated this morning so not my tummy at it's best

That's a great achievement mate, well done.

I'm trying to get back into running too, just struggling to find time.

Just wondering, how do you juggle the running with weights training? I always worry that if I run too close to a workout (before or after) it will affect my recovery.

Been doing a couple days of speed training the last month or so. Managed a PB in my 1km repetitions yesterday. All 3 under 4 mins for the first time ever :D

Goal is to run a sub-20 min 5km time by the end of march. On my last attempt managed a 20:50 so got a bit of a way to go, but I'm confident I can do it.

Started the 5 X 5 6 weeks ago and am starting to hit some highs now ( I think) I havent lifted for 2 years so bear with me.

Squat: Started at 70kg, now 112.5 kg
Bench Press: 50kg------> 85kg (Did one set at 87.5)
Overhead Press: 22.5kg-------->57.5kg
Barbell Row: 50kg----------->77.5kg
Deadlift: The program started me at 40kg primarily because I have never done them but did 1 set at 120kg.

The starting weights weren't too hard but I'm at the stage now where I'm struggling. So anyway, I'm half way through the 12 weeks and hope I can impress with some bigger numbers by the end.
