Pity Mal doesn`t get himself into some sort of shape so that he at least looks moderately like the specimen he once was instead of the bloated pasty thing he has become.

R1 2027, a late smokescreen and captain coach Sexy Mal strides out like a colossus, snaps Galvin ala '94 GF Terry Lamb and leads Westeros to glory.

Surely the Leagues Club bear being sodomised should be the logo

It was nice of the Bears to disappear for the quarter of a century when the Internet became ubiquitous so that image won't be old when they join the comp.

Dear AFL, Please put a team in Darwin... please do it. It would be endless laughs with four black hole clubs out of 20 plus Lions, Swans and three or four Melbourne clubs highly dependant on doing well on the field to stay in a decent financial position... Please do it

“A report commissioned by AFLNT last year found a team would run at a yearly loss of $15 million, on an annual operating cost of $45 million.”

Quite amazing the amount of articles following this theme now, the problem for the fumbles is that it starts to be accepted as fact by the general population, increased defensiveness by the other code and panicked decision making as they try to counter it.
Certainly with the line-up of events over the next couple of years this narrative isn`t going to change. There is a momentum here that is going to be hard to counter with only having a domestic competition. There is only so much they can do to generate new headlines.
The funny thing is, to your average unthinking fumble fan, the union WC`s(of both sexes) will only add to their anxiety of being overrun by `rugby`.

Not that I want to stop them from making a mistake, but God knows why they are thinking Darwin before Canberra.
They`re going for broke on this `national` game thing, the `Australia`s native game` nonsense I heard one of their apologists describe it as the other day.
Unfortunately for them, as with all other sports it is internationalisation that will engage younger fans, being only Australia based will not be enough.

NRL's expansion plans are leading the AFL to make reckless expansion decisions. If NT transpires (it won't), then the last 4 teams added to the AFL are all massive drains on finances. It may get to the point of the AFL needing to rationalise clubs in Melbourne (hello Norths and St Kilda) to cut their cloth accordingly nationally. If this sounds familiar then it's where the ARL found itself in the 1990's.

That’d be great, even more fans for the Storm to pick up after the death of the Rebels.
