Of course i do i was asking the question, which you wont answer
You are aware that fumbleball was being played in NSW and QLD before Rugby League arrived here aren't you?
Great point vfl had a local competition here well before rugby league was invented in Sydney

their club the walaroos? was getting massive crowds at the time

then the nswrl was born and soccer union and vfl were all eviserated

veni vidi vici

Lol PR ranting that Gil himself gave the tv deal numbers .
lol the bloke is a proven liar …many times over yet now he is reformed & tells nothing but the truth.
only a good little AFL cultist believes anything he says.
that’s you AFLPR
Time And again afl has been shown to be full of lies and exaggeration

they are literally right now trying to sweep the racism investigation under the carpet and reinstate those two coaches who were stood down

anybody with half a brain can see gill is lieing about the tv deal

the only real report says fox and seven are paying 500 million pa. On top of that afl are claiming 147 million pa paid by Telstra including money paid to instal wifi at marvel stadium

Hence why it is better to wait to have all the details

Bend Fox over a barrel? Nine had all the key timeslots, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon. Fox were left with the undesirable timeslots. I doubt Smith would've got much from Fox.

Smith was probably five years too early. If he was still CEO today, he might've used Stan Sport or Paramount to his advantage to drive the price up and/or take the game to a new provider.

Back in 2015, Smith didn't have those options, or any other provider, and ultimately, it cost his job. To make it worse, the deal was done in relative peacetime. There was no pressure to get the game back on the field during a pandemic.

If Smith truly maximised 2018-2022 deal then the NRL could've had more savings to starve off a pandemic lockdown.
Smith knew Fox needs NRL, especially with the early star up of streaming at the time. He wasnt daft. Having landed $185mill from Ch9 he had them by the ball sack. Alas our weak as pss leadership as usual capitulated.

Everybody is missing the most important detail,
A thread about Slippery Pete has ticked over 100 pages,
True that most of those pages are filled with b*tching from
pissy red and a couple of his alts but still it's another
milestone achievement for the Great Man.

And who can forget this momentous moment in time, could we have looked any more stupid?

'The NRL will seek tens of millions of dollars in compensation from broadcast partner Foxtel after the pay-TV giant struck a mammoth rights deal with the AFL last week.
the club's are under the impression that the governing body believes there was an understanding between the two parties to revisit the deal if the AFL’s deal gazumped that of rugby league.'
- Sept 12 '22

Senior sources at News Corp and Foxtel have confirmed that no additional payments will be made to the NRL under the existing contract, which is set to run until 2027.

Try :
* revival of World Club Championship ;
* Super League champion to play in pre-season tournament ;
* 5 week international window at the end of every year :
* secret negotiations with W.A. Gov`t. about the establishment of a top-level Govt. working group to explore partners for W.A. NRL team bid ;
* and God knows whatever else they may be planning that we have absolutely no idea about. Perhaps like the $20m sponsorship deal with Westpac signed last week that no-one had any idea was coming.

We have an estimated $190mill a year tv gap from '25. How much do you think that package above is worth realistically?
Only thing of any real value is an 18th club to give the ninth slot. Can you see that happening for 2025?

The big one is when to place the expanded NRLW competition, $120m outlay.
12 week competition, If placed well could bring in decent coin.

You`re panicking, first of all every little thing will chip away at the gap and secondly who says we have to match them from exactly 2025. Just like we closed the gap plenty of times before we will close it again and eventually usurp them, calm down.

They should get more, Given length of game etc

When we get actual figures from both sides we can discuss if the gap is acceptable or not
