I remember, I watched the Q Cup match from the hill for lack of an option and then went home for a decent view of the NRL game.
Well done, at least you went to see the local game...
Better off driving to QCB for the better experience then

Thats why we need to set guidelines for NRL Country venues

12.5k capacity / 5k grandstand / 4 change rooms / proper hill

Then taking NRL games to country will promote facilities growth and leave a lasting legacy

Maitland Sport Ground has better facilities than Cairns

NRL - "Hey Queensland can you fund a 400 Million dollar stadium for part time tenant, that represents another country, only 3 years after you built one in Townsville?"

Queensland "Are you stoned?"

Again though the ground will look different - assuming they even have Cairns as the hub

Who is funding that?

When they release the business plan, I will let you know.

In such cases the local government or Businesses fund them to have the extra business.

The trade off will be a home game or 2 in whatever area is the training hub

They will several upgrades for the Olympics, The cricket fields that host games will too get upgraded to some extent

Can you show me the Dolphins "business case"?

The local council or businesses will fund $400M stadium?

Are you serious or trolling?

Just when you thought you couldn't get any dumber.

So Townsville now has to support two NRL teams?

Why bother with Cairns? Just base them in Townsville?

Are you mentally challenged?

What the f**k are you on about?

Where did I mention a new ground?

Training hub, The odd trial at the same hub that is what that format of team will be after.

Hence why the basic upgrades planned will be helpful to make that hub Cairns.

As for the Dolphins business case, All their assets. Pathways in place, history it stacks up.

Every side aiming to be team 18 has holes in their application from the outside anyway, that is why their Business plans are key

It really isn't that hard to understand.

Australian companies get on board, which provides jobs for wives and other families members to make the recruits transition better.

In an area with a decent enough standard ground, The odd game there to thank those businesses/locals

Train in Cairns, but play every game on the road, is the worst idea ever presented on this forum.

You're either thick as two short planks or trolling if you think that's a sustainable "business" model.

You should be embarrassed.

It's this weird thing with a small group of Panthers fans here. They defend literally everything V'landys says or does. They think PNG is his decision, so they are trying to find any possible justification.

Surely in that case the mayor should be offering a centre of excellence not a stadium? You don’t need to be spending big for two trial games a year. I’d suggest what the mayor actually wants is anew stadium and 3-4 nrl games a year. You can seee why the PNG bid hasn’t shown any real Interest.

No one has said much about the permanent upgrades.

Just that athletics will train there and some soccer games, That should see a decent setup that could be a CoE.

As I say but very little details yet
