Yeah there would be tweeks to the actual pools but that keeps TV and clubs happy
No tweaks, this is based on geographical placement towards Compass points, so South division is headlined by the Storm, all teams closest to Melbourne are in this pool, North division is headlined by PNG Hunters all teams closest to PNG are in that pool
East are headlined by Warriors, all teams closest to NZ are there, which leaves West which is headlined by Western Bears, all remaining teams closest to Perth (ala Western syd)
Later on adding Adelaide, Fiji, Qld5, Etc would change those dynamics, but essentially its unemotional, impartial and based on geographical distance, no one should be tinkering with it to keep some random derby, it's why I brought up Heritage/Magic round as a potential TV/Broadcaster picks, as they can schedule whichever "derby" that they feel is missing out

Fu€k rusty, and fu@k that made up book, the only feud that matters is panthers V eels, "the golden derby" hawhawhaw...

...it's important to be impartial, otherwise the same shit will go on as it does now, regarding timeslots and favouritism towards certain clubs or strength of schedule, it's also important to split Sydney based sides apart from each other to ensure an even amount of travel, (as much as it can be, as non Sydney sides basically travel fortnightly anyways, but you cannot gift Sydney sides a leg up by zero travel)

Where’s all the people who said he was a bad leader disappeared too
Been officially announced. Good to grow our blue chip sponsorships. I wonder if the Vegas foray has gone some way to freshen up the NRL brand that makes a company like Red Bull want to sponsor it.

NRL announces Red Bull as official energy drink partner

The National Rugby League (NRL) has announced iconic international brand Red Bull as the official energy drink partner of the NRL and NRLW from 2025.

NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said the partnership between two leading and exciting brands was a natural fit and would span multiple elements of the sport including the NRL and NRLW Premierships, the Men’s and Women’s Origin Series, Rugby League Las Vegas, the All Stars contests and the Pacific Championships as well as Rugby League high performance and talent pathways.

“We are delighted to partner with a global brand like Red Bull for the biggest events on the Rugby league calendar,” Mr Abdo said.

“The success of Rugby League in 2024 is highlighted by the stature of the partners attracted to the sport.

“Red Bull is all about innovation, energy and entertainment and so is the NRL. Rugby League reflects the very best of a modern, vibrant and diverse community and we can’t wait to work together with Red Bull on exciting and unique experiences for our fans.”

To launch the partnership, there will be a Red Bull Gives You Wiiings Aerobatic Display by Matt Hall, a Red Bull Air Race world champion and former Royal Australian Air Force top gun fighter pilot, at the Grand Final Week Beach Touch Football event at Bondi Beach at 12.15pm today (Saturday, October 5).

Rugby League deserves and is lucky to have a leader with the game’s best interests at heart. Two of Greece’s best exports: Peter V and Nick Politis.
The best thing about these guys is that they’re authentic . They seem to have grown up with a passion for the game. Even last week channel 7 sport showed Nick Politis at the Roosters NRL match . And I remember when he stumped up 100k to help out the Greek rugby league team at the last World Cup.

I did a little research and compared the Panthers lineup from the 2021 grand final to this one. 8 players played in that first win of their streak and they are still here.

The salary cap has failed. You should not be able to be gunning for your 4th consecutive premiership without losing more players.

Rugby league competitiveness today is as one dimensional as it was when the Dragons were winning every year. The NRL must make big changes.

V'landys must do something here. Step in and show some leadership. What is worse is even if the Panthers lose...the winner will be the same team that last won it before them! This is not good enough in a modern professional salary capped sport.

This year's top 3 have won the last 8 premierships (including 2024)

The top 4 have won the last 9

And the top 5 have won the last 10

They will need to do something

The NRL has also floated the introduction of a conference system and a draft. It also has ambitions to expand the NRLW competition and boost the profile of the Pacific Championships. There’s also the Las Vegas play – a move designed to create more value for an international streaming service.
