Been saying the same about the NSW Origin team for a few years now...
Please explain.
No I'm not Pauline Hanson just elaborate.

Is there really any value in a 9's? It's just a glorified pre-season warm-up.
I think 23-24 games is still the sweet spot. Allows everyone to still play eachother should the NRL expand again (hello Adelaide and Brisbane 3 in 2040), still have a Vegas/Magic weekend and clubs have at least 10/11 home games.
That said, can't really fault anything PvL is saying or doing
This is no change to what we have now. Teams play 24 games.. just have 3 byes each to make 27 rounds. That is the thing. Teams don't send proper teams anyway.
24 is ideal in 20 team comp, everyone once and allows for 5 local derbies/big match ups.
How to shorten the current 28 week comp is the question
PNG wontThere are 204 games currently.
And new teams in Perth, PNG and NZ will be the three most expensive teams in the comp.

Byes now are due to originA 20 team comp there is no need for byes. Whether it better having byes in the comp or seasons starting later is for the RLPA to decide. Atleast have a say in.
You can't bring in say NZ 2 or Brisbane 3 and not guarantee home games against Warriors and Broncos.
Regardless of how the NRL Origin side was faring, NSW were winning the lower grades consistently. Please explain.

Don't have byes is a start, we have 3 byes for each team currently and we added a round zero purely for the vegas teams, that already makes it a 24 round comp,That is the thing. Teams don't send proper teams anyway.

All that needs to be done is set up a conference system, that you hold derbies with your closest neighbouring clubs, and that's it, 19 rounds vs everyone, add 4 derbies, then a magic round (suncorp obviously, let the broadcasters choose the best match up, and also make it where clubs dress in heritage kits) all equals 24, you get those derbies, and an even comp as everyone plays each other..
Of course this happens now, but there's a more definitive outline as to why certain clubs play others moreso, and make the derby games worth 3 points
Set up a north, west, south, and east division/pool
NORTH= Png, Cows, Tans, Phins, Bronx
WEST= Perf, Riff, Pawwa, Dawgs, Wests
SOUTH= Storm, Raiders, Souffs, St.Merge, Sharks
EAST= Nites, Eagles, Rorters, Wahs, NZ2
Doing this avoids teams like Storm vs Cows or Perth vs Warriors playing twice a season, also splits up the Sydney based sides, and forces them to travel
Please explain.

There’s certainly merit to something like this, and it’s how expect wider expansion to go.Don't have byes is a start, we have 3 byes for each team currently and we added a round zero purely for the vegas teams, that already makes it a 24 round comp,

I suspect as a minimum, you’d swap Souths and Manly in your proposal so that Souths/Roosters play twice, but overall, looks decent.
I wouldn’t mind if 9’s became a summer circuit with the levels below NRL, or players returning from long term injuries playing. Perhaps 3 events per summer, all in regional non-NRL areas, one in NZ, two in Aust. 3 days with no kick off before 6pmIs there really any value in a 9's? It's just a glorified pre-season warm-up.

Sorry but souths are in the South division, and Sydney roosters are in the East division, having them in the same division serves no purpose, not when you can have them play a derbies in magic round, suncorp, besides Manly definitely ain't southThere’s certainly merit to something like this, and it’s how expect wider expansion to go.

Roosters souths at Suncorp but not AllianzSorry but souths are in the South division, and Sydney roosters are in the East division, having them in the same division serves no purpose, not when you can have them play a derbies in magic round, suncorp, besides Manly definitely ain't south
