To be fair to him, I'm 95% certain that he means that in a decade we could have consistently competitive competition between those nations, i.e. that those pacific nations could compete with and regularly beat Australia and to a lesser extent NZ.

Personally I think that's a pipe dream, but whatever.

He’s already annoyed the pirate lol

But FitzSimons was buying none of it and had a pointed message for the Racing boss.

"Who I don't admire is Peter V'landys CEO of Racing NSW.," he told Sports Sunday.

"He was on Channel 10 saying we're proud of our animal welfare program how we re-home our horses. Mate what would it take before you're not proud of it? He was asked on 730 Report, 'How many go to the abattoir?' he said none. 'Why's that?' 'It's against out rules and regulations'. 4000 of them go to the abattoirs treated in the most appalling fashion."

FitzSimons questioned whether V'landys was equipped to take on the role ARLC commissioner in addition to the Racing NSW role. He said the problems with animal cruelty are so troubling he should reconsider his plan to take over as Australian Rugby League Commission chairman.

I agree it's an embarrassing position for V'landys to be in, and it's up to him to sort the issue out,but citing a rugby league hating FitzSimons who seizes every public opportunity to bag the code, is a bit rich.

V''Landys played rugby league for many years,FitzSimons never touched a Steeden. He should be out on his platform pushing for Castle's removal, but no, she is doing a wonderful job.

He see and hears nothing at times, when it comes to I negative incidents, involving things close to his heart.

Like many others the pirate has made a career on being an opinionated, arrogant and ignorant media mouthpiece.

V’landys coping flak now as he said nsw racing weren’t aware of horse sales yet an owner has come out and said she notified them of seeing race a horse sold at “cattle” markets a year ago and they ignored it. Not a good look for his ethics or credibility.

Positive news that doesn't fit the negativity narrative of "fans walking away from the game" and "clubs struggling to make ends meet" or "the game is dying"

only half, with a $3million gift? What happened to the football cap?
Sharks with another massive loss, hopefully it’s explained by the paying of Debt before payment or something rather than an operating loss otherwise their development pay out isn’t going to last long.
Sea eagles, geez good job their owner has deep pockets. They aren’t sustainable at brookvale you’d have to think. Good to see the other clubs getting in the black, even if it is only due to the nrl handout rather than Improved business.

Tbh I think it's quite worrying that so many useless right wing f**ktards love the guy. Never a good sign and every chance that he's a complete fraud IMO

I am just happy he is familiar with the game. Beattie was terrible anyway.

No guarantee of success but I think he will be much better than his predecessor.

:joy: more predictable than Skeepe going after the refs when Canberra lose.

Apart from "because Paul Kent said so" why was Beattie so terrible?

And your answer can't include "Cronulla Hawks" or "Is that a Newcastle or Barcelona jersey?".

Because he didn't know the product, he never did. No it isn't because of the Cronulla Hawks stuff but it did foreshadow some things.

Did Paul Kent say so? I don't take much notice of his opinion.

In a post about what’s good about rugby league Perth red still had to tear the game apart

"He didn't know the product" isn't an answer, and is hardly relevant.

Nothing you've said provides evidence to support your claim that his tenure was terrible for the game.

Yet you mentioned a figure for the Sharks of $5m on prior posts.I'm sure they'll hang in there, just for your "pleasure".
