Roosters were never booted, yet the Swans have grown massively right under their noses.

A lot of it has come at the expense of Union. The people who wouldn’t be caught dead wearing anything to do with RL have jumped ship to AFL now that Union is fading into irrelevance.
A lot are to do with the SCG memberships

With no minimal RL games at the SCG following the AFL has replaced this

It like if your going pay those high dollars or wait 20 years to get in you will do everything on offer Cricket, AFL-Swans, and some RL-Easts and RU-Waratahs at the SFS

Or you suddenly get mates who will want your ticket if dont use it

Scg memberships also applied at the sfs yet still more members go watch fumble ball than league

It's only been on the front for nearly 20 years.

But wb reckons he's the massive NRL fan and those of us who disagree with him are really AFL fans

To be fair to WB, there are jersey designs that look too busy to the extent that a sponsors logo could get lost in the mix of it. In the old days, the Wests Magpies jersey was simple and the Victa sponsor stood out.

And of course, these days clubs go through so many jerseys like ANZAC, Indigenous, Women in League etc.

I wouldn't call a red v on white background "busy"

Interesting

From 1983 to 1994 most years averaged 90-130k for the season

The SL war came along and Swans home crowd jumped almost immediately and by 1997 were averaging over 300-350k

And has remained there

Afl got lucky with super league and yeh the swans gained massively. It doesn’t hurt that the ground is tiny so games there are basically like rugby league sevens.

I think you only get four games (unreserved) at the SFS. Could be wrong but I believe you need to get a gold or platinum(?) membership and I’d dare say the merkins that can afford those are most likely rugger fans.
