Would be an opportunity for the AFL to put the put it when the MCG is less than half full. They would have to promote the hell out of that to get a crowd of maybe 30-40k max. I’d focus on instead trying to sell out AAMI as often as possible
Nah most afl games there is that figureWould be an opportunity for the AFL to put the put it when the MCG is less than half full.

The demons got 8300 for a crowd there recently
Victorians are more accustomed to going to the MCG or Marvel. Even though the viewing is worse, as a once off game might attract over 40k. Lots of people here hate the Gather Round concept and might be happy to get to a game on that weekend. I would start with Marvel.Marvel would be better but the AFL owning it probably complicates that idea. The 2 Marvel games a couple years ago got more than those games normally would at AAMI surprisingly.
Nothing wrong with giving it a go either way.

I remember that night well. I was at a Screaming Jets concert here in Perth that night, and midway through the gig, Dave Gleeson asked the crowd "Anyone know who won the footy tonight?" I didn't hear the answer, but Gleeso's eyes widened and he just said "Faarrrk" and I knew it was a flogging. Mundine was put on a media ban after that. They played at the mcg before v dragons in 2000. The game where choc said everyone knew who the real champs were and the dragons got close to a 100 put on them
Marvel is there to host events and make profits. AFL hosted last year would be happy to host again. The AFL likes money.Yeh wouldn’t be surprised to see it get a large crowd if they put some promotion behind it. Marvel would be a better fit crowd wise and is better for rectangular sports, just wonder if the AFL would let it happen whilst all their clubs are out of town.
Might have better luck working with Vic Gov and NRL to look at making it a double header at the MCG to try and get some NSW/QLD fans down. Nice and early in the year to try and get some of those that come for the novelty to follow up with a game at AAMI.
No they are taking it to rural stadiums too.The problem afl has with this magic round they are doing is that it will have way smaller crowds than their normal round.
Are all games at Adelaide oval?
5 x AO (50k). 2 x Norwood (10k). 2 x Barossa (10k). No double headers. Total crowds should be around 270k. Why is this a problem? The problem afl has with this magic round they are doing is that it will have way smaller crowds than their normal round.

It’s in Adelaide - total shit hole.5 x AO (50k). 2 x Norwood (10k). 2 x Barossa (10k). No double headers. Total crowds should be around 270k. Why is this a problem?
Because it's a piss poor copy of a Rugby League event5 x AO (50k). 2 x Norwood (10k). 2 x Barossa (10k). No double headers. Total crowds should be around 270k. Why is this a problem?
Hilarious defensiveness.5 x AO (50k). 2 x Norwood (10k). 2 x Barossa (10k). No double headers. Total crowds should be around 270k. Why is this a problem?
I still don’t believe it.
