The Dragons can get stuffed
Manly and Cronulla’s hopes of holding a home final this year are on life support after the NRL informed clubs that the ARL Commission would retain sole discretion over the allocation of post-season games.
The Sea Eagles and Sharks are set to be the big losers in a shake-up of the finals format after the NRL outlined to clubs in an email that the commission would only use venues that were considered suitable for finals games.
It is understood St George Illawarra also sought clarity from the NRL in relation to the email amid concerns that Oki Jubilee and WIN Stadiums would fall foul of the changes.
However, Dragons chief executive Tim Watsford told this masthead that they were comfortable that their hopes of hosting a home final were on firm footing.
The Sea Eagles and Sharks, however, look to be fighting an uphill battle to retain hosting rights in the post-season.
The Sharks’ home ground at Ocean Protect Stadium has had a reduced capacity in recent years and there were rumblings at the end of last season that the ARL Commission was set to scrap the ground as a finals venue.
That now appears to have happened – although there was no mention of specific grounds, the NRL told clubs in an email this week that the ARL Commission would have the power to play finals games at their venue of choice.
Nothing said about Lo or CampbelltownThe Dragons can get stuffed
how could a final be held at Kogarah or WIN , if the other Sydney suburban venues are ruled out ?
Its about time & the 3 venues used in Sydney for teams from that city that win the right to host one should be
Accor , Allianz & Commbank
And I suggest that the NRL should use its discretion even further as well
If a week one finals happened to have Parramatta as the host , & their opponents were a Sydney opponent
its played at Accor
possible exception would be the sharks as they'd only bring 300 fans
All Sydney suburban grounds & WIN stadium should be ruled outNothing said about Lo or Campbelltown
I imagine that is impliedAll Sydney suburban grounds & WIN stadium should be ruled out
answering the post above mine !I imagine that is implied
I don't think the Dragons need to be concerned about a finals venue..

Perhaps just a de- clutter of the top draw should be a priority.. more specifically where the spoons go..lol
