Peyton Manning to the Jets?

Peyton Manning to the Jets.

Is it wishfull thinking by some Jets players, media speculation or could it really happen?

It is quite obvious that some NY Jets players are not happy with current starting qb Mark Sanchez. Players, who like to remain anonymous are spreading stories they would like someone else playing under centre for them. I wonder if these players remain nameless to Sanchez. Not good for a team when your fellow players don't think much of you and are suggesting they want another quarterback, even if it is Manning.

So does the Jets have any realistic chance of getting Manning?

the rumours of interest have been circulating since the colts began looking like winning the suck for Luck. I have no doubt in my mind that if the Colts want to ship him, the jets will be very very interested in getting him

Rex needs a SB and he needs one soon otherwise he'll be out the door. Sanchize aint going to get it done for him currently. A year or two under P.Manning? Maybe.

I would love to see it happen. Brady and Manning in the same division? Manning outisde of a dome? Manning in a different scheme? It could answer a lot of questions about which QB is better.

Will it happen? If the Colts want to ship him (and given the Colts new GM, it wouldnt shock me, he is close with Marty Mornhinweg, there is an idea that Mornhinweg will end up the colts new HC, Marty's expertise is moulding QB's and running a WCO, which is exactly what would suit Luck) i think it will.

I think/hope it's wishfull thinking by the Jets. Even after missing the season with surgery Manning will get offers from about 26 teams. Not that he needs the dollars, but think of the children and the charities!!

Patriots, Packers and Steelers, Saints probably don't need him.

Would hate to see Manning became like Favre at the end of his career.

I think this shows more of what the Jets players think of Sanchez then anything else. He has a lot of problems going in to next season

I can't see the Colts getting rid of him even if they draft Luck. At worst they'll trade him but not this first year. Maybe after the next. He'll just go to whatever team is willing to cripple their draft to have him.

derrick mason described the dressing room as a mess. Thats not a good a start to an off season

if rex makes the move to manning, i dont see how he can go back to sanchise... by going to manning, you admit Sanchez is a mistake, and there is no coming back from that as head coach to QB imo (which is why i think Kolb had to be traded, once Reid went to Vick and anointed him the eagles starter, he had admitted that kolb wasnt the answer)

There is no way known that Peyton could be as selfish as Brett was n his last 5 years. I'm retired, no i'm not, yes I am, no I'm not. Peyton is way more classier than Brett will ever be.

I agree. I think Peyton Mannings next contract will be his last.
It's looking less likely he'll be with the Colts next year, so when he retires, they may well do the one day contract thing so he can retire as a colt.

If he does become an unrestricted free agent, I hope the Dolphins have a red hot go at landing him. If they get Jeff Fisher in too coach, who knows, maybe it'll happen? Or maybe I'm dreaming.

Apparently if the Colts get rid of Manning by March 8 they dont have to pay him a $28 Million bonus...

He will be gone for sure...

When Manning does become a free agent, there will be a lot of interesting conversations going on behind closed doors. I guess they all ready are.

I doubt Manning would want to walk into the media frenzy that would ensue should he line up with his brother's cross town rivals. I'm picking he'll stay put

See this interests me more than Peyton for some reason. While I never bought in to Mason being the problem, well only problem at least, I'm for some reason very curious as to what is happening over there. It has a feel that it could divide the whole team.

Indianapolis wouldn't deal Manning to a team in their division. No way. Adam Vinatieri confirmed Manning was throwing at practise back end of the season and he is confident he will be fine. Manning's arm was said to be that of a NFL starting QB in the throws he saw There is optimism and he will be there Andrew Luck or not in my opinion. If he is fit, Manning is good for another three big seasons. I would be flabbergasted if he was traded and you could knock me over with a feather if he was traded to the NY Jets.

Thanks for the Eelectrica. Nice find. Much appreciated. Many believe we will know before the NFL Draft. The above might just confirm it. IF Manning is healthy as Vinagtieri thinks he is, I am adamant he stays though on sheer numbers alone, you could appreciate why he is traded. Still don't think he is shopped off to AFC or division team.

The Washington Redskins might come-a-calling. Snyder would LOVE to have Manning.

Mike Lombardi on ESPN says that he believes Caldwell will be fired and that Peyton Manning, if healthy, will remain a Colt to be a constant for the team amonst all the turnover of personnel. He says the franchise will be faithful to Manning.

2013 2nd that turns into a 1st if Jets make Superbowl within 2 years
NYJ receive

2012 7th

WAS trade
2012 3rd, 7th
WAS receive
Mark Sanchez

IND trade
Peyton Manning
IND receive
2012 1st, 3rd, 4th

Why would the colts give up manning for a pair of 6th round picks?

thats all the raiders have got in 2013, isnt it?
