Peyton Manning to the Jets?

You're dreaming if you think Raiders get Manning. They have zero to offer in draft picks and players. They just got Carson Palmer. I'm just hoping for Mario Williams and/or Carl Nicks for now.

What about Manning to Seattle? Manning and Lynch would be unstoppable and a good WR FA pickup would have them right in the mix for the playoffs and SB.

Seattle are a small market team though. Logic to me would suggest the Redskins. Big market team with a good coach and a division that gets all the limelight. He woudl also go up against Eli twice, possibly three times a year.

I think Manning is a Colt in 2012. Same with Luck.
Seattle i think have a pretty decent WR core, Rice and Baldwin are both capable of getting verticle and getting seperation, both are tough enough to go over the middle.
If Manning landed in Seatle, i think more than anything else, they'd need to invest to upgrade the line and then look at an athletic pass catching TE

I think the Jets are the most likely landing if he goes but im not sure that Manning will want to get involved in that locker room right now, it seems completely shambolic. They have their work cut out for them.

Washington are an interesting option but will a dwindling Manning really want to play little brother twice a year, who might have more rings than he does soon, in a division that hosts a resurgant Giants, and also yearly SB contenders in the Eagles and Cowboys?
No way to my mind, unless Manning is confident he can take the division with the skins, otherwise he risks damaging his legacy.

I still think if Drew Brees isn't re-signed by the Saints...that Peyton ends up in New Orleans. Bringing a bit more glory to the city his father championed.

Maybe Miami as well. Warm weather, suitable for someone who needs their muscles loose.

Redskins are the favourite but. Snyder will just be "omg give me names"

Seattle have a decent O-Line. Its young and getting better. They have an athletic pass catching TE's in Zach Miller and John Carlson but can't stay fit.

Their line is definitely decent, very young and talented, but when you make moves to get someone like P.Manning, your next moves must be ensuring he is kept clean imo. They definitely need someone of reasonable ability to come in for Okung when he gets injuried (and he always does!), and there isnt a line in the league that couldnt use more depth.

Carlson and Miller dont thrill me as TE grouping... If im seattle and ive landed P.Manning, im spending at least one early round pick (which is probably a 2nd or 3rd) on a Tackle and im targetting someone like Finley in FA for the TE positon

Everyone is assuming that Manning will be able to play again and at the level he has in the past.

I have real doubt we will ever see him play at his normal high level again. But some team, be it the Colts, Jets or any other team in need of a quarterback will give him a shot.

The big question is, how much money are they willing to fork out to get him?

very fair point DC. It will be very interesting to see to what level he can play at, regardless of where is in the league

He will be fine, maybe he goes from a top 4 QB to a top 10 QB wherever he lands, he still has his brain which is what makes him valuable. In a league where Blaine Gabbert can somehow start the majority of a season, Peyton will be worth his weight in gold.

Probably best summed up there

What about Minnesota? Good O line, good receivers, great RB and could use a great veteran QB. Manning would want to go to a team who have most of the pieces in place to be a contender. Although Minnesota had an awful season, they could draft the top O lineman in the draft, have Peterson, Harvin and Shiancoe and possibly sign a WR like Colston and they are set on that side of the ball.

Minnesota have shown they are never afraid to look at a short term fix in signing a legend. Randall Cunningham. Warren Moon. Brett Favre. Jeff George was not in the caliber of player listed though he was an aging vet who had success that the Vikes didn't shy from. Peyton Manning is more than likely in their sights, I just can't see the Colts dealing him away if they are confident he will be fit.

Na i think the Vikings will stick with Ponder, he's a good young QB who showed a great deal of promise in his rookie year

I think the vikings have learnt some lessons with quick fixes and are willing to build the team around Ponder

Wasn't Ponder benched though for poor performance? I don't think the front office is completely sold on Ponder just yet and Manning is far better than McNabb in every sense. Ponder could sit for a year or so and learn off one of the best.

Quick fixes have got them one game from the Super Bowl on a couple of occasions (98-99 Cunningham, 09-10 Favre). I am not sure that they have suffered with quick fix signings at QB though the second season tripped Cunningham and Favre in their stints. Minnesota with Manning can be good and the long term gain is Manning mentoring Ponder who as you say, shows plenty of promise. Again, not sold Manning is leaving Colts, though if was traded, Minnesota makes a lot of sense as does Washington which I noted earlier.

Minnesota have a rich owner who isn't afraid to spend money to win the big one now.

If Manning is available, we will make a play for him, although we would have to change a whole lot about our offense and will probably adopt the 2 TE set like NE and utilize Shiancoe and Kyle Rudolph.

I wouldn't rule it out, but I think it's a bit of a reach.

It's a shame what happened to the Vikings. They should be contending, not wasting Peterson's career. Manning would help them a lot and they would probably finish 11-5.

Blaine Gabbert f**king hell, it would be like giving me QB duties, you just know there will be a hilarious outcome!!! I hope Manning stays in Indy though.
