Peyton Manning to the Jets?

i will rule it (bank it, manning to the vikings! (based on my 2011 tipping form))

Frasier seems to have a really good trust from the Wilfs and i think they'll give him the time to build a team the right way. I dont see them getting interested in Manning, not for the price that the Colts will require, Frasier knows they have too many other holes to fill for longevity

manning if he leaves the colts, and i dont think he does, will go to a win now team, not a project team... which is why a team like the jets makes sense. Skins too who could be the next Niners (in terms of dominating games with an elite D and solid QB play and limiting turn overs)

Blaine Gabbert f**king hell, it would be like giving me QB duties, you just know there will be a hilarious outcome!!! I hope Manning stays in Indy though.

the difference between you and gabbert is you might actually progress as a QB throughout a season, rather than regress

the colts wont release manning
you dont cut a future HOF, not when there are so many QB needy teams and you've got a whole swag of holes to plug on your football team

if payten leaves the colts, it will be via a trade, not a cut

Good point but the Colts could seriously beef up their roster in a hurry by trading Manning. They will have Luck and if they traded Manning, they could get one of the top WR's in the draft and get some help on defense.

I'd pull the trigger on a Manning trade, especially with the rookie wage scale now in place. The value to the Colts would be enormous.

Who is likely to land the jon in Indy now Caldwell is gone? Are there many true HC candidates left? It seems as though it's now all the OC's and DC's who are interviewing for head coachig roles. I'm not sure Luck would prosper with a rookie HC.

i think Marty Mornhinwig might get another shot at HC somewhere. He's very close to the new GM at the Colts so i think he'll be a strong contender.
He's interviewing at Oakland too

If they trade manning though the 28 million counts against the cap.
Even with the NFL's insanely high salary cap, that's a huge chunk taken up by someone who's playing elsewhere.

Manning could restructure to make a trade possible, but would he do that?

Colts appear to be clearing the decks of those who are Manning supporters - could be a telling sign. I gave this little hope of getting off the ground IF Manning was healthy. The idea of Manning in another uniform grows some legs, not sold, but things are getting interesting if you're a Colts fan.

Im not sure about it either
Shanny has spoken alot about rebuilding that team the right way, and the owner has apparently given him the to do so. Im not sure a 3-4 year QB is the way to rebuild that team the "right way"

Shanny will use a first rounder this year (if they covet RGIII) or next to give him a franchise QB, i dont think he will be willing to give up the picks the colts will want for a quick fix

if the colts cut manning (which they might if they cant restructure/trade him before the bonus is due) the skins will be in it up their eyeballs, as will about 10 other teams...

The we'll know alot more about where this situation is heading once the HC is announced and in the lead up to the bonus
definitely interesting times ahead

Skins would be mad going after Manning. They need to build a longer term future, not deal in one or two year outlooks. Obviously Manning would give them a greater chance for short term success, but what happens when he retires, they're back at square one. My money is still on Indy to retain him, but if he were to go anywhere, my money would be on places who are a good QB away from winning a Super bowl. Somewhere like Arizona, the Chiefs or wait for it... Denver. Cue obligatory Tim Teblows fanboy responses

I still think if Drew Brees isn't re-signed by the Saints...that Peyton ends up in New Orleans. Bringing a bit more glory to the city his father championed.

Maybe Miami as well. Warm weather, suitable for someone who needs their muscles loose.

Redskins are the favourite but. Snyder will just be "omg give me names"
this would be an interesting option... Manning going back to NO and leadin the Saints to a Superbowl would be a hell of a story.

I can't believe people are even considering the possibility that NO won't re-sign Drew Brees. They'll throw the cheque book at him to keep him
