Don't forget the Lafai incorrect no-try call in the last game.

Along with the injury list the Dogs had at that time.

Should be a cracker of a game.

I agree lafai try should have been given, but funny how the blatant forward pass on the dogs last try is never mentioned.

If memory serves correct, our injury toll far outweighs most others then (and still does now) champ. In fact I think we lost 3 in that game

Cannot wait for this one, both teams going well. The way finals should be :) may the best team win.

Lol. Dogs injury list at the time? Panthers have been. missing 6+ players the past two months, with injuries hitting double figures. Most injuries to. halves and second row as well.

I think we have only been favourites once in that time.

Yep, the last time we were favorites to win a match was against The Sharks I'm pretty sure, which we lost.

Dogs have had out for an extend amount of time the following.

Pritchard
Kasiano
Klemmer
Reynolds
Perrett
Morris
Tolman
Tim Browne
Stanley

Along with fringe players like Lloyd, Pat.

Panthers have certainly had a huge injury list too. Though the Dogs are right up there especially when you consider a fair few of them are well over a quarter to half + of the year out.

We were very slight favourites against the Warriors, it was $1.88 to $1.98.

The last time before that was the Sharks in Bathurst. That's one time favourite in 7 matches, 5 of which were wins.

In this match favouritism has be to do with weight of money (real or expected) and the expected benefit of previous big match experience, because certainly isn't anything to do with performances on the field in recent times. Hasler thinks his side should be the underdogs, or at least that's what he says.

Not sure of your point here. Perrett, Morris, Reynolds, Klemmer, Tolman and Pritchard all played against Manly.

The point was that the Dogs have had a very heavy injury toll of quality players. Throw in Mbye when they were missing bot halves who was out for 6 weeks with turf toe. Leaving them with Cook & Ennis etc.

Last time played - Round 21:

Teams
Fullback 1. Sam PERRETT 1. Matt MOYLAN
Wing 2. Corey THOMPSON 2. Josh MANSOUR
Centre 3. Moses MBYE 3. Dean WHARE
Centre 4. Timoteo LAFAI 4. Jamal IDRIS
Wing 23. Chase STANLEY 5. David SIMMONS

Five-Eighth 6. Josh REYNOLDS 6. Will SMITH
Halfback 7. Trent HODKINSON 7. Jamie SOWARD (c)

Front Row 8. Sam KASIANO 8. Nigel PLUM
Hooker 9. Michael ENNIS (c) 9. James SEGEYARO
Front Row 10. James GRAHAM 10. Brent KITE (c)
Second Row 11. Josh JACKSON 11. Sika MANU
Second Row 12. Tony WILLIAMS 12. Elijah TAYLOR
Lock 13. Greg EASTWOOD 13. Adam DOCKER

Bench 14. Reni MAITUA 14. Lewis BROWN
Bench 15. Dale FINUCANE 15. Jeremy LATIMORE
Bench 16. David KLEMMER 16. Bryce CARTWRIGHT
Bench 17. Lloyd PERRETT 17. Sam McKENDRY

Coach Des HASLER Ivan CLEARY

Dogs missing - Josh Morris, Aiden Tolman, Frank Pritchard, Mitch Brown
Panthers missing - Peter Wallace, Tyrone Peachey, Issac John, Issah Yeo along with losing Taylor after 20 minutes in that game and Cartwright in 50th minute.

So both teams were definitely missing players.

Going into this week....all the Dogs missing players are back with Perrett, Stanley and Mbye not there as a result. Jackson and Ennis may be suspended.

For Penrith, Cartwright, Taylor, Peachey, Wallace, John are definitely not there with Yeo the only possibility of being back.

So Dogs deserve their favouritism based on player availability.

Should be a good game but I expect Dogs to maybe get up. I hope and pray I'm wrong but those are 3 massive in's for Dogs. I'm not very confident. Even if we lose I'm immensely proud of this team and what they've achieved this year

Those 2 players are hardly worth mentioning and again would fall in the fringe players like Pat, Lloyd etc.

Don't forget Dogs still have Kasiano, Stanley, Browne out who would all be in the top 17 without question. Pat & Lloyd aswell though again like I said with John & Yeo hardly a loss to compare to that of the others.

Jackson and Ennis not cited.

Dogs therefore full strength aside from Kasiano.

Very tough.

Incorrect.

Tim Browne fractured his skull.

Chase Stanley dislodged Mitch Brown before being injured (may have even been against Panthers?) Would be one winger.

Then have blokes like Lloyd, Pat who were 17th before being injured. Hell even Loko if you count some of the other lads for Panthers.

They are relevant when you have Will Smith as your 4th five-eight.

Yeo was a regular in the team tbh.

Who would Stanley and Browne be in for? Mitch Brown and Reni?

Kasiano is the only quality player that is out and there is not a capable or better replacement and when you have a prop rotation of Graham/Tolman/Klemmer...I wouldn't be complaining.

Browne to Reni is negligible, Brown and Stanley is negligible.

Compare that to vital players in Peachey/Cartwright/Taylor/Wallace who are actually in our top 17 every day of the week...

Are you really suggesting that you don't have the superior roster right now? What are we even arguing about? lol.

I'm so confused :(

hoping Sege turns up for this one, he's been a bit flat lately though expected after a big loss. if Sege turns up, watch out Canterbury!!!

will be a classic though :)

I can't see how you can call Cartwright vital and Browne negligible.

Browne was forcing his way into starting at prop for Dogs earlier this year. He would be in the top 17 everyday of the week and is not negligible.

The forward pack is the Dogs strength that is why the prop rotation is like it is. This is pretty straight forward when you consider they have the clubs best winger playing fullback...

I think it's a bit unfair to call injuries. They are going both ways.

Unfortunately I am the same, I just can't see with our depleted team how we can get over them. I just want our boys to give a good account of themselves and hope the finals experience helps us out for next year. If someone told me at the beginning of this year we would be one game short of a gf I probably would have laughed at them, I am just so proud of their effort to get to this point.

be interested to see how Canterbury react/play if they dont have a decent lead like they have had in the last few games. be even more interesting if they were trailing by a lead they have had recently (ie 10-16 pts).
