Warner must go. Inverarity, Lehmann and co must see sense.

@SaraJenkins38 13h Bye bye Warner. Bring back Hughes.

@lincolnrobinson 13h
I'll keep saying it. Warner instead of Hughes is just madness. Proven again today

@jmccoy17 14h
@CricketAus lucky australia continue to drop Hughes for shit like khwaja and Warner #ridiculous #invererityisajoke

@White_Adam: decision to rush back David Warner at the expense of Phil Hughes was a huge error.”

The decision to rush back David Warner at the expense of Phil Hughes was a huge error. Warner never deserved to be treated so favourably.

Just to put his little brag about Hughes 21 fc century under 30 nonsense into perspective. Ricky Ponting had 20 test centuries by the time he turned 30.

Its not much of a brag bm.

Who are these people and why should we care
They are Australians. CA exists to serve Australians. We are their masters and they should be listening to us.

Compared to his contemporaries it is a massive brag. We don't have enough century makers. Hughes is 24 and has more first class tons than any Aussie under the age of 30. Infact I don't think anyone currently younger than Clarke has more tons than Hughes.

He has got all those tons as an opener and he has not had a chance to prove himself as an opener since he has improved his technique.

All I want him to have is one guaranteed series as an opener. 3-5 tests where he can prove himself in his real position. If he averaged any less than 40 for that series I would never advocate for him to play tests ever again.

I don't hate Hughes and think he has talent but his flaws means to me he shouldn't be in the national side. He cannot play spin at all.

Yep im a fan despite his crazed stalker but he needs a few years in shield and county cricket
He got runs in county and shield. He forced his way back in the team. Then he was played out of position all over the order except for his best position.

If someone wanted him to fail they would have done exactly what the selectors and Clarke did to him since he came back.

He has not had a chance at opener since he fixed his technique. If he started facing spinners at 35 n.o. every time he batted he would be a thousand times more likely to go on with his innings and do well.

He deserves a shot as an opener. He hasn't had that. Warner does not deserve to be there ahead of him.

Warner does deserve it more then Hughes. Stop being a blind fool. He is THAT BAD at facing spin that captains will just open with a spinner

Ham you f**kwit that stuff was years ago. He has already been dropped for that, he fixed his technique and he came back and since he has come back he hasn't been caught in the slips since. His transformed technique is the reason he would succeed as an opener.

He deserves one series in the spot he has scored more runs than any other Aussie under the age of 30.

I reckon Dipak Patel and Chris Harris would love a trundle against Phil Hughes. I can't believe he's made it to this level with so many massive, massive technical flaws. He must have brilliant hand-eye coordination, because his footwork is as crisp as Muttiah Muralidarans and his bat arc as direct to the ball as Willie Watson's.

Besides the Saffers, England has the best quicks in the world including a world class bowler in Anderson. Hughes has looked very good against them. Hardly got a single edge. He has figured out how to play test standard quicks.

If you put Justin Langer or Mark Taylor at 6 they'd probably have struggled as well.

Give him a series to open. He'll consistently get in against the quicks, more often than Warner or Khawaja. And by the time his eye is in and the spinners come on it will be much easier to play them.

If he was guaranteed one full series at the top of the order I would bet my house on him averaging over 40.

I don't know how a supposed top order bat can have weaknesses against both pace and spin. If I was his coach I'd tell him to give up trying to bat and maybe try his hand at bowling.

lol there used to be a time around here that the only ones who thought that Hughes was a decent cricketer and deserved to be persevered with after only one decent series was NSW supporters. Everyone else knew he was utter rubbish and said so many many times only to be proven right with his failure upon failure upon failure. We said he was technically flawed which was blatantly obvious to anyone who knows even the smallest thing about the game but no, he was going to be our savior....

The penny finally dropped with even the most ardent Blues fans and as much as they tried they just couldn't defend his shitness for any longer. It's no surprise that you're the only f**kwit that thinks he's capable of holding a place in this team :lol:

FFS he doesn't have weaknesses against pace. You don't average 62 on a tour of England if you have weaknesses against pace. Since his comeback, his averages against fast bowling has been world class.

What has brought him unstuck is being played in the wrong position which forces him to face his biggest weakness when every batsman is at their most vulnerable, early on.

If he faces his first ball of spin in the 30s every innings he's going to do much better than if he faces them on 0.
