Plane Crashes Into World Trade Centre

Weather forecast for Afghanistan .... I'll put this here since some bleeding hearts knocked it off the forum !!!
********************** The weather in Afghanistan tomorrow is expected to be sunny in the morning
with increasing mushroom clouds in the afternoon.
The temperature looks to be a moderate 2000 degrees with warm winds
upwards of around 700 miles per hour. It will definitely be a day for the
sunblock, and it wouldn't hurt to shake the dust off the ol' lead suit in
the closet.
If you're planning on venturing outside in beautiful Afghanistan tomorrow,
don't forget to drink plenty of fluids such as barium which shows up nicely
when blasts of radiation flow through your body.
Most of all, have fun out there in dusty Afghanistan and enjoy the old
country while........ well, while it's still there

Mud, we obviously know what you think about the situation, but is there a need to put in things like that??
Im not in the business of deleting posts (quite a believer in free speech) but stuff like this does stretch the boundaries, perhaps a little to far...

OK Mud and Blood,
You have tried to make this a thread on 2 occasions and both times I deleted it.
I made my point in the 'Deletion Explanation' which I have posted in the all topics section. I have not named you it that post.
I didn't make a point of having a go at you then and I won't now.
If you insist on putting up this 'joke', then so be it.
It will stay here for all to see and you'll have the opportunity to observe how many people share your 'sense of humour.'

BTW, for all concerned, Mud and Blood didn't even write this. He has cut and paste it from an email which is doing the rounds.
Most recipients of this email will simply delete it but for some reason, Mud and Blood wants to put it into a public forum.
Naturally, if anyone wants post #401 deleted, they only need to ask.

Yeah, i got that one on email as well Willow..
In all seriousness, i have received abt 10 emails in the last week about ppl wanting revenge and saying stupid things. Some are in...um...lets say 'good humour', the ones with the statue of liberty sticking its finger up and the one with abe lincoln are OK....
Others are shocking. There are all of these ridiculous conspiracy theories doing the rounds, i have got 4 different mails trying to point out the faces(images) of people in the smoke...similar to the one that El Duque put up last week. All i ask is, i don't want to know about it, please don't send any of them this way...Im sick of getting them
But hey, its an open forum, its a country of free speech (supposedly) so lets just let others be the judge of what is 'acceptable' in here....

MFC. I got an email at my hotmail address from someone who was very disturbed about the post.
Their reasons were personal but I think it's suffice to say that we should show a little more compassion for people's feelings, whether that person is grieving for Americans, Afghanis or anyone.
My email isalways accessible through my profile but here's the shortcut: jubileeoval@hotmail.com
Naturally, if Mud and Blood wants to discuss this further, I'm more than happy to give him my time.

No means to sound callous Willow but who in their right mind would be grieving for Afghanis?

Dog,
I don't wish to hand out a history lesson but the reality is that many thousands of innocent Afghani lives have been lost over the last decade following the Soviet invasion that subsequent Aghanistan civil war - a localised conflict which was largely funded by US and western interests. The logistics being provided by the CIA.
The Taliban gain control of the country during this time.
Imagine what it must be like for the Afghani folk now... knowing that they are set to be invaded again by the very country whichsupposedly 'liberated' them years earlier.

Dog,

If John Howard was a ratbag, would that mean you and I and other Australians deserve to die? Just remember we voted him in democratically, the Afghans don't even have that right!

And can you explain how American lives are more valuable than Afghani lives?

Innocent people on both sides are getting killed in this meaningless conflict. The worst part is that the Yanks created the Talibans. Who are the victims? The average Afghan in the street! People who don't own television sets and probably don't even know what happened in America last week. People that have had basic human rights taken away from them thanks to the Americans creating this government in Afghanistan.

Yes, I am grieving for them, just like I wouldexpect others to do for me if someone wanted to take out his frustrations on John Howard.

The rumour now is that bin Laden has left Afghanistan.
IMO this is a mindless conflict and through it, there will be no resolution.

The NY Stock Exchange has recorded record drops and subsequently, the Australian Dollar has slipped to .49s US for the first time time in months.
This is largely caused by the uncertainty of possible war.
The crisis which really just hit a small area of the USA is now having world economic repercussions.

Willow, the NYSE is in way better shape than it was in 87,Christ the Dow was at this level 3 years ago.It could not sustain the level that it was on(10,000)and was probably due for a 5% correction.Don’t get to carried away with that side of things just yet. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> This was the 87 crash The 1987 stock market crash occurred on "Black Monday" -- October 19, 1987 -- when the Dow Jones
Industrial Average fell from 2246 to 1738, losing 22.6% of its total value. From the close of trading on
Tuesday, October 13, to the close of trading on Monday, October 19, the Dow fell by almost one
third, indicating a loss in value of all outstanding United States stocks of approximately one trillion dollars.
This crash marked the end of a five-year "bull" market that had seen the Dow average rise from 776.92
points in August 1982 to a high of 2,722.42 points in August 1987. Fortunately, the market soon recovered after the crash. The Dow Jones Industrial Average had the
record of a one-day high gains of 102.27 on October 20, 1987 and 186.64 points two days later. By
September 1989, the Dow had regained all it had lost in the crash.

This photo was just emailed to me by a friend who lives in the US. I haven't altered the photo from how I recieved it. Below is the messege me attached with it.
Chilling!

Hi peep's
I don't know the authenticity of this photo, but here's the brief story behind it, that was E-mailed to me.
The Fed's found a camera among the rubble of the collapsed WTC. Upon developing the film, this is the photo that came about. It said to be from the touristlookout roof of the North Tower of the WTC, the one that was attacked first. The person on the photo has yet to be identified.

Take note of the date on the bottom of the shot.
Approach it with an open mind, and you be the judge to its legitemacy.

Interesting photo but how can a camera and it's film survive burning and falling rubble where the temperatures got up the many hundreds of degrees fahreinheit...?
I've some interesting photos sent to me as well, but this is a weird one.
How far open does my mind have to be?

Willow,
In a recent post on this thread you stated that 'the crisis which really just hit a small area of the USA is now having world economic repercussions'.

I think this is a very simplistic comment (the part about the crises just hitting a small area of the US). I don't think you're naive but the comment is IMO. Terrorism didn't start when the World Trade Centre buildings were destroyed. These sort of events, albeit on a much smaller scale, have been happening for a while now, so the response is a build up of many years of terror, which obviously reached cruch point last week.

But there is also no way that terrorism will now stop if nothing is done. Any belief that America and those encouraging the Jihad can somehow find middle ground and live and let live is idealistic in the extreme, so the inevitable response from America is also intended to be preventative.

We won't know until after the impending events whether or not it was the right course of action. I can see that it will increase the hatred and be the forerunner for a new era of instability in the world. The results could be catastrophic and a lot of innocent people will die - I think this is your point (correct me if I'm wrong). But sitting back and waiting for the next wave of terror doesn't make any sense either. It's a hard choice because of the uncertainty of the situation, but personally I'd prefer to go down fighting trying to defeat evil, rather than waiting for it to consume us all.

The crises has demonstrated the length to which terrorists will go to, and while the immediate crises is concentrated around a small part of America, the ramificatione are obvious to all people in the world. This is a world crises.

There is no doubt America has contributed to the hatred against them, through past cultural insensitivity (to put it mildly). But I don't believe that America has been driven by the sort of fanatical blind hatred that drives the terrorists.

El Duque:
You're absolutely right. Too early to jump to conclusions.
However, I got this from one of the news services today, thought you'd find it interesting:

MEL TIGER
RE: your post no.394
John Pilger a liar. Your KIDDING I hope.
To call Pilger a liar and worse a traitor shows a complete and utter contempt of the Nobel peace prize and totally calls into question the fact that Pol Pot was a murderer of extreme mass proportions.
YOU meltiger are nothing but an ignorant fool.It is people like you who are going to perpetuate this conflict for many years to come with your misinformation and purile minded ramblings.
It would be suggested that you do some more research or even just some research into Pilgers character before you cast your senseless aspertions upon the public of this domain.

The Afghan weather post is in terrible taste. Almost as bad, in a different way, was the long post by "journalist" John Pilger. To call him a journalist is a joke. I haven't read such a biased, unsubstantiated piece in a long time. It was not journalism, it was political propaganda full of opinions without supporting facts. If bin Laden was to edit that, he wouldn't change much.
Just curious - I've never heard of the guy. Who does he write for? Surely not the mainstream media?
