A lot of anthems suck. They aren't supposed to be classic hits radio.

Some might remember the plebiscite. Not the SSM one, the national anthem one, held in the mid-1970's. It took almost 50 years for someone to find something wrong with the winner, and still no-one is really sure what it is. None of the others would have lasted a week. Google "Song of Australia".
