Myth: the NRL is an even competition.

2017 Storm
2018 Roosters
2019 Roosters
2020 Storm

We need another winner.
Thanks to Penrith for making it a 3 horse race. However since 2017 only 3 teams have won the competition and with the storm, Roosters and panthers through to the preliminary final again only cronulla stand in the way of another year of StRoPa dominance.

Does anyone else apart from the big 3 look likely to win the comp in the next few years?

Hopefully we are a chance next year with AFB

I suspect the Sharks have made their one big finals statement a weekend early & will collapse against the Panthers next weekend.

Looking at clubs on the rise, the Bulldogs are a possible challenger, but not sure of any others that really look like they could be entering a premiership window.

Hopefully soon we have an era like 2001-2005 or 2014-2016 where the premiership changes hands a few times.

Why? This isn't flogball, we don't need to share the fkn flag around, we need one Penrith, and a whole heap of challengers trying to rip that trophy out of our hands, they should rise to our level, thus the best team wins through effort, not the AFL flag sharing ideal...

I disagree. The dominance by 3 teams is getting repetitive & boring.

You seem to know a lot about flogball. Wouldn't have a clue who wins their flags or whatever they call them.

That is the question however - apart from the storm and Roosters what other sides can put up a challenge to the panthers in the foreseeable future?

Possibly Brisbane but they'd have to get a decent coach and different attitude.

Cowboys have a stack of Origin players. Like Brisbane it seems to be attitude with them.

Chooks are losing manu suaaali keary and jwh. Walker needs to recover from an acl

Dogs maybe

Penrith no luai jfh or Penrith stadium could miss the top four

No matter who wins this year it will be storm dominance for a while and daylight next

Roosters will sign elite players on a minimum deal they will be fine.

Dogs haven't done their yearly cull yet. The roster will be no better

even if you count Dogs in. That is 6 teams that can win the comp.

Very few comps in world can 1/3 of the comp have a shot to win the comp.

Everyone should be aiming for finals realistically too, no other comp has that either

Seriously mate what is this response? Most competitions in the world have a draft or some other mechanism on top of salary cap. You do this to avoid teams just planting themselves at the top of the ladder. Now you can label it as anti-Darwinistic if you like but Rugby League like any other sporting competition is a product. If a sporting contest becomes predictable then support will wane eventually. Also the game twenty years ago was amazing for that fact - it was unpredictable.

I’m sure V’Landys considering he is a gambling man would be acutely aware of this and will do something and he has infected that in the past.
