TLOU and The Witcher 3 shit all over FO4 IMO.

If the TLOU story is generic then FO4's is the equivalent of an Adam Sandler movie.

See, I think all the little side stories that you get in Fallout 4 are where it's at. The story you piece together going through the Mayoral shelter, or in a backyard bomb shelter terminal or a girls diary in Natick. And the little stories every solid character brings with them. The main story is reasonably generic but the little ones make it so much richer than anything else IMO.

I love The Last of Us but it didn't drag me in like Fallout has. And neither did Fallout 3 previously. Maybe it's just that Fallout was exactly the game I felt like playing when I started, who knows. But I went months without playing TLOU despite being part way through.

Haven't played the witcher
I can't get into Fallout games and I don't know why, they're everything I like in games and they just don't click for me. It's not the bugs or anything either, I can't explain it really.

I agree, I just think both The Witchers main story and side stories are better.

The Witcher 3 pisses all over anything Bethesda has ever done, this coming from a former Bethesda fanboy.

The writing is streets ahead, which is impressive considering english isn't their first language.

The witcher series as a whole is based of a book/tv/movie series that has a gogantic following in their home country thats where the games draw all their storytelling etc from.

Finally got fallout 4 and i am loving it.
I was so disappointed in Witcher 3. Everybody raved about how great it was and while i appreciate thats it is great on a technical level, the game itself was so boring. The world felt like a generic fantasy world, it had no atmosphere, and had nothing to keep me interested. Fallout with all its flaws has tonnes of atmosphere. I love making my way through war torn buildings, you here gun fire ahead but you don't know whether to go ahead and engage with it or to stick to the alley ways. I love clearing my way through raiders camps looking for loot, trying to decide whether to take my loot back to market to sell or to keep going. Just something as simple as diamond city is far more interesting then anything encountered in Witcher 3

I suppose it depends if your a fantasy or post apocalyptic fan for me the the Witcher is a fair superior game in setting story and even its crafting system. I have never had as much fun exploring the commonwealth as I did when I was exploring skelliege nor met characters with as much depth to them as I encountered in the witcher. Fallout four is still a fantastic game and one I have poured a lot of hours into, I don't know how many are members of the giant bomb site but they are doing there community top ten for the year right now and fallout is one game I am finding very hard to place. I currently have it sitting at number 4( top three being witcher,Bloodborne and rocket league) but I am finding very hard to spilt MGS V and fallout plus I still have rise of the tomb raider to play and I have heard that is very good. I think fallout may coming in around five or six on my list which shows how amazing a year it has been for games.

I never really got into this franchise before but decided to give this a go after getting bored with all the other games that I actually had been looking forward to.

I had to do a bit of researching around to work out how the class system works and didn't really get the concept of VATS at first, but once all that got sorted out I'm finding this game really enjoyable.

So many FPS games are so heavily multiplayer oriented that solo play is usually disappointing (geniused AI) or almost non-existent, so this was a welcome alternative to Star Wars: Battlefront. I love the blend of FPS/RPG.

This new survival mode is how the game should have been all along.

That said, not f**king cool getting an infection on a level 2 character.
