I certainly remember New Vegas being a tough introduction. I have strong memories of being massacred by Deathclaws and Super Mutants if I veered too far out of the kindergarten areas.

I remember being killed by that lizard thing right at the start

I think 4 seems harder if you head out exploring straight away. Its clear they want you to follow the story for a bit and level up. Once i got over the initial hump its been pretty smooth sailing.

Two weeks ago when I first played Fallout 4 I got killed by a stupid Stingwing.

I'm finally getting enough time to to myself to sit down and play for more than 30 minutes at a time, yesterday I was heading to the Cervega Energy Plant and got killed by 3 Mirelurks that popped up and all I have is the 10mm you find when first escaping the vault and a pipe rifle. The lesson I've learnt is that death stalks you everywhere early on!

Got an institute pistol and I feel like I can defend myself a little bit better.

Heaps of fun though, reckon I played for 4 hours straight yesterday when I got home.

Question I have is did anyone join the Brotherhood of Steel at the end of a particular mission?

I joined up. Opens up a bunch of radiant (repeatable) quests and a new quest line akin to that done by the Minutemen.

My biggest complaint so far would be the companion AI. Alot of the time when you tell them to 'go' to a location in the hope that they'll draw attention or attack the enemy on the way they kind of just ignore everything.

Anyone been to Covenant yet?

God, Piper drives me crazy. I'm sneaking around and she f**king gallops ahead of me and triggers an ambush I'd been carefully planting plasma mines to f**k up.

Smashed that bitch at The Castle.... Nothing like a missile launcher for that boss.

Haven't joined Brotherhood yet, but probably will after I finish a few of the many quest I have queued up.

Well, I didn't go exploring straight away - I stuck to missions.

And the random encounters messed me up.

f**k.

I hate Dogmeat - dumb shit keeps blocking doorways for me.

Haha that's another thing that annoys me. Lining up an enemy in first person scope mode only for a companion to walk directly in front of the scope... :?

Never had any real issues with companion AI, but I'm a guns blazing type of guy. I stick to Dogmeat mainly since the Lone Wanderer perk still works with him. Did use Cait until I tapped that, though.

Having maxed out romance with Piper, I've just sent her to one of my settlements so I can try my luck with Cait.

I'll watch the video when I get home, but does anyone know if you can get your armour workbench back once you scrapped it?

I suppose I could build one, but I've heard it only comes in at later levels.

I might have to check if Red Rocket has one.... If not, I remember there was one on a building near the Corvega Plant.

Hrmmmm.

Do you guys use naming schemes for your guns/armour? So far I've got a 10mm upgraded called Monica and a Glow Rifle called Chandler. They go alright but got annihilated by a super mutant suicide bomber this morning.

Build one, they are really cheap.

Suicide Bombers are a pain. Shoot their arm in VATS from a distance, they'll blow up.

Cheers, I joined but haven't seen them since as I'm still exploring the landscape and doing Minutemen quests.

Yesterday I was being slaughtered by a Feral Ghoul Reaver whilst trying to clear out the National Guard Training Yard. I bugged out to head back to sanctuary with the thought maybe I should do some of the main story and level up (currently level 8).
