The Lae Tigers are through to the Digicel Cup Grand Final after beating the Waghi Tumbe 20-12 in the Grand Final qualifier.

The Waghi Tumbe will now play the Hela Wigmen next week to see who will challenge the Lae Tigers in the Grand Final in 2 weeks time.

And for those interested to know there are also 2 other matches on Saturday.

1. There is a Brisbane Broncos Legends vs PNG Kumuls Legends game at the NFS in Port Moresby at 1pm. I will try to give a list of players from both sides later in the day.

2. The main game at 3pm is a womens match. The Brisbane Broncos WNRL Team will play their only warm up match against the PNG Orchids Women's Team.

The Hela Wigmen continued their giant killing run on Sunday to defeat the Waghi Tumbe 30-10 to progress to this weekends Grand Final.

They play hot favorites and minor Premiers the Lae Snax Tigers.

What sort of crowd number is expected for this grandfinal? I'm thinking a full house? 15-20000?

They definitely have the heart and toughness! All welcome to this great code!
I've decided to follow a PNG team: The Wigmen!
Copycat. I nailed my colours to the wigmen mast months ago

Also having heart and toughness will only get you so far but players like segayaro, olam and McDonald prove that the talent is there in PNG.

Last year the Goroka Lahanis came from 5th place to beat the Minor Premiers Enga Mioks in the Grand Final.

This year the Hela Wigmen have come from 6th place to challenge this years Minor Premiers the Lae Tigers.

Could there be a repeat of what transpired last year.

We wait and see on Sunday.

It would be nice to see this GF on tv! I suggest it's unlikely given the lack of coverage for other competitions on other nations by the relevant tv organisations of Australia.
