Ah yes, $100m solely for the benefit of rich people in a 3rd world country. That's something to celebrate.

$100mil infrastructure investment into a potential tourism industry…

give god know how many building jobs to locals, who knows how much in the way of free advertising through the nrl teams residence there and christ knows how much in annual tourism off the back of all of it.

yes, how dare they…

Waste of money. Can't wait to see the $600 million player that this might produce.
Hey if this works, it's a once of payment that sustains the talent pool to venture into other areas, we would never normally think of, like Adelaide, Melbourne 2, Perth 2, Nz3 etc... not to mention growing the game internationally, and even get your favourite bid Western Pasifika Porcupines UP!!!
The Penrith of the Pacific!!!!!!

I'll be fully expecting Ivan to be the inaugural coach if that's what they really want

This the same talent pool that has produced maybe 1 player a decade over the last 30 years? Seems very reasonable that all of a sudden they'll be supplying players to 5 new teams.

Pipeline begins after the Money changes hands, I've said it before, there was never a pathway beyond the hunters into 1st grade from that club, only started last year, with the dolphins, who have taken on 3 development players last season, need to have either a club specifically taking their best via a full reserve pathway or they build this team to do it properly

The booming Port Moresby tourist industry!!

You know nothing about PNG if you think "locals" are building this sort of thing.

In 2024, this type of tax payers funded project in a foreign country will be electoral poison.

"Here's your $300 rebate!, Oh and we are building a palace for Taylan May and Matt Lodge in PNG"

You know this is total bullshit. QCup is the pathway.

Shitloads of talent has flowed out of the QCup into the NRL the last 2 decades, if anyone from the Hunters was considered NRL material they would have been snapped up immediately.

Do you think Souths cared what "pathway" Cody Walker was in, when he was at Brisbane Easts.
