good question 82.
I am a big big fan of the Nokiachello but i think it would be difficult for Lockyer to move back to fullback. I would have Anthony..see, no bias!
They are different types of fullbacks. Lockyer was more creative in the front line as he has the ball skills, safe in defence, where Nokiachello is a supreme kick returner and one hell of a strong SOB...also great is defence.

when he was a fullback yes.
You have a short memory if you think otherwise.
Dont compare his front line defence to that as a fullback...chalk and cheese.

Good to see ur being objective, Mistee Bee would be so pissed off LOL, and yeah I agree with your assessment + I dont think he could handle the rigor of kick returns as his fitness isnt what it once was.

As good as Mini might be on the individual level, he will never mean as much to the team as a whole as Lockyer does. So it's a pretty simple answer of Lockyer. Even at fullback, he was rated in the top three players in the world (along with Johns and Fittler). Minichello will never reach that level.

Interesting that Lockyer can't force Mini out of the test fullback spot. Mini's a far better defender.

Heather can't even force nuffy Hunt out of the Broncos 1 jumper. ;-)

Different types of fullback. Mini is a better kick returner, line runner, defender and had better hands imo. He's also crazy strong. On the other hand, Locky can playmake, can kick well, has a great running game and is fantastic at backing up for the offload, Robbie Ross style.

For my Knights, i'd prefer Mini over Lockyer... But only because Johns and Mini have an excellent combination, and we already have a playmaker. Otherwise, it's Lockyer all the way.

Brett Hodgson has done more in three games of football than what Mini has done in his best 3 NRL games this year.

Hodgson 1st Daylight second, Lockyer at fullback 3rd.

Bowen, Slater and others BEFORE Mini.

This is a strange statement. What three games? When did they take place? Why are Mini's only counted from this year?

you think so huh bug?
Hodgson is not in the same league as mini.
Sure, Brett had a great 2005, but mini has been great since he moved to fullback in 2003.
Thats 3 yrs of consistent great football to one great yr for brett in 2005. One great yr doesnt make a career. If it did then Ewen McGrady would be up with with the best 7s....but he isnt and never will be.
Brett has to continue his play for the next 3-4 yrs....if he does so then he is right up there.

Hodgeson is good, and a tough little f**ker, but as Chucky says, he ain't Minicello just yet. He had a real slump toward the end of his Parra days, and if that didn't happen he'd probably be rated higher.

Because 2005 is the closest year to where we are now that I can think of.

....Also Hodgo played in a pretty average WT team when he got there .... Mini has been blessed and surrounded by stars.

mini did have quality players with him since he has been a chook but that shouldnt take away from the quality player he is.
Peter sterling had a gun backline....doesnt take away from him...same with langer and stuart.
Mini has not had one avg yr...they have alllllllllll been great. Hodgson had a good 2002, but suffered at the backend and was rather non existant in 2003.
