I suggest that it isnt so much swearing as the racial abuse etc charlief

I've never had a problem at Wollongong, been there heaps. Never really had a problem at all at the footy.

I can't bellieve there is a thread about this. FFS everyone swears at footy games. Everyone swears in this forum including this thread about bad language at the football game. How hypocritical complaining about bad language at a football game by using bad language.

I ask this question. How many people here have not heard any swear words at a football game??

People who are deaf need not answer.

Anybody would think that you are trying to downplay what you did at the game CharlieF?

From what I have been reading it's just not swearing.

Charlie, the incident in Post #1 went beyond swearing, wake up to yourself.

I've been to every Cronulla away game within NSW this year and Manly fans definately gave us the most concerns. There was one bloke who kept confronting us looking for a fight. Lucky the CSSC doesn't have any real hot heads. I think the boys also copped a lot of sh*t on the way back to the bus.

We just expected the next 2 trips to Campbeltown and Penrith to be far more confrontational, (given stereotypes)but the fans of those clubs were fantastic.

I have no more to say on this. My points have been made. If there is physical violence, then I don't condone it. Whilst swearing is not acceptable to many people, at a football game its normal.

i dont think theres anything overly wrong with swearing when you are getting passionate about the game but there really should be a limit and some self control.

Try reading it again Charlie. Now take special note of this word in particular

THINK.

Or then again, your response could have been exactly what I wanted and planned to read from you.

LOL....theres swearing at footy, and then theres direct personal verbal abuse, which I can assure you is NOT normal.

Had a similar experience at Shark Park last year. A group of about 40 drunken people aged between 15 and 25 on what they call 'beer hill'.

We often criticise the poor behaviour of some bulldogs supporters so I feel if we do so for one we do so for all. Below I included a post made in the panthers forum about the behaviour of some fans at the Manly vs Penrith game yesterday. I was not there so don't know the accuracy of the comments.

However given that their is a full thread on the issue at the offical panthers forum with several different people confirming such behaviour it would seem to be accurate. If bulldogs fans are going to be subject to scrutiny it is only fair that the clowns at other ground are as well.

Yep......PK has been informed correctly. I was one of the group that was spat on repeatedly during the match.

These animals turned up just before the first grade game started, already drunk, and never stopped drinking through the entire game, and they started their abuse from the minute they arrived.

There were two separate bunches of wanker drunken Manly fans standing behind our group, and every one of them kept leaning in towards us during the entire match, and purposely screaming directly in our ears, and spitting all over us because they were so drunk they were unable to speak without spit flying everywhere.

They screamed and swore at the ref every minute of the game. They were screaming foul racial obscenities at Wesser and Presto every single time either of them touched the ball. Almost every time one of our players had the ball they were screaming out for their players to break our players legs.

They were leaning in behind my chair and screaming 2 inches from my ear that I was f......n filthy westie scum, that my team was f....ked, that you westie scum are all dole bludging a....holes, and so many other obscenities that it's not worth even mentioning them.

They were also calling Gower a pedophile. At one stage I was told that I could f...k off, my family could f...k off, and we filthy f.....n westie scum could drop dead. And F...k off back to penrith you f.......n scumbags.

I did not say one single word to any of these animals through the entire match, until the last couple of minutes when I screamed at them and said "f...k off you animals, get away from me" because I could not stand any more of it. I was shaking and ended up with a migraine headache.

And seeing as I had not spoken to any of them, or even looked in their directgion, there is no way that I could be accused of having provoked them, as I was too scared to even open my mouth out loud. Whenever I wanted to speak to my friends I just leant in and whispered to them. I did not even open my mouth at any stage to cheer on my team as I was too scared as to how much more abuse I would cop if I did.

And no, I did not report them to security because, for one, we were totally outnumbered by them, and two, they started to push on the back of my chair half a dozen times like they were trying to tip me out of my chair, and then sarcastically whining...."oops I'm sorry".....and then saying f....k off home westie scumbags.....and by that stage I was too scared to dob them in to anyone. Who knows what they would have done next if I had.

I thought I might just point out that this disgusting vile crap was coming from the mouths of animals of both genders in their twenties. Just for the record, I am a 46 year old female, who kept my mouth shut, and minded my own business, and I did not deserve the filth and abuse that was being thrown at me, and neither did any of my friends. Our only crime was to be sitting at their ground wearing an opposition team jersey.

Rhino and his wife, along with 4 other friends of ours, were also copping the same kind of abuse from another bunch of manly animals that were standing closer to them, and these animals were pushing on their chairs, and spitting on them as well.

Rhino also had the ropes that hold up his Panther Power banner burned through so that the banner fell down, and they made sure that they burned them in the middle so they could not be used again and had to be thrown away.

And btw, Rhino also has a baby and a toddler and he was very fearful for their safety and very angry at the filth that they were exposed to.

I can tell you for a fact that I have never, in all the years that I have been attending away games as far away as Canberra, Wollongong and Newcastle (Unfortunately I can't afford to go to NZ or interstate), I have NEVER been scared for my physical safety before.......and that includes Bulldogs games.......but I sure as hell was this time around.

In earlier years at Brookvale, abuse was no worse than most other grounds, but in the last 3 years or so, it has been getting steadily worse, and they have now overtaken the Bulldogs for disgusting behaviour.

I will definitely be emailing, and snail mailing both the Manly gorund manager, and the NRL head office. I hope that someone puts a stop to this before it gets any more out of hand.

Yesterday all around was by far the most miserable day that I have ever spent at a league match, and I hope that I never have to suffer through another one like it ever again.

One thing is for sure, I will NEVER EVER go near Brookvale oval again.

Thats a great littlle story you written there.
Did you think of it as you were heading home after being crushed in the final minutes of the game.
What is sad is that someone needs to come on here and post utter nonsense all because the Panthers were beaten by the better team.

From memory ive asked this before and the answer was no. I was there, and i would suggest you not comment on an issue you clearly know absolutely f**k all about, though its never stoped you before in relation to the raiders
were you there - yeah the Monoghans made evil threats to a bunch of looneys...and since when this year have I even mentioned the Raiders since last year - besides having a shot at some clown saying how bad our crowds are - and yet our averages crap all over yours. In fact that day I was in Bay 58in the second last row of seats n the grandstand with my wife. I get to a fair few games at Canberra why not it is only a stone throw from where I live.

You've been a registered member of this site since Nov 2005 and you break your posting virginity some 8 months later on a moronic post such as this.
Pull your head in tosser and accept that all teams have their moron element. Maybe you were one of the dipsh*ts referred to in Post 1....your first post would seem to justify that you may be of the same ilk

A. as I pretty clearly said at the beginning I wasn't there this is what someone else is saying happened to them.

B. Yesterday there was a 3 page thread on the panthers offical website where various individuals report similar sort of behaviour. Not sure if it is still there as it was in the game day forum which is renewed on tuesdays.

C. There was a report in yesterdays telegraph about John Lang reacting to abuse that seems to be in the same vein as this.

No your dead right. I joined up last year for some stupid reason, but was directed to this thread by a mate at work.
I remember giving it to Wally Lewis something shocking for about 1/2 hour straight. He turned at me , smiled and blew a kiss. Thats how you react. Not by asking the bloke to step outside. I wanted J.Lang as a coach at Manly but now the little skirt can rack off.
And No, I wasnt at the game as i dont live anywhere near Sydney.
