Wow....

Back to earth with a thud.

Benji, Prince and Elford all very ordinary...

We were very lucky to be in it half time, and you think with the wind behind us we could have gone on to win....

Our forwards kept trying though....

Must win next week in Christchurch....

Hodgson, Hold your head up high mate. Prince and Elford had shockers. Kerr should be back next week with Benji injured and Prince possibility for origin (not deserving after that sh*t of a game).

F*** off elford, Bring back Johnny Wilson!!!!!

Yeah what a thud.........I have to admit to only lose by 6 is promising, but that display was utterly inept.I dont know how many times we dropped the ball on the first tackle.

And just to rub it in it looks like Bunji is gooorne.....

Well done to Boof,Moodie,Galea and Hodgo.Take these four out and we would have lost by 50.Especially Hodgo....great work.

On the downside......its confirmed I am defintely a Fitzy hater  .If he isnt the worst centre/tackler in the comp I will give it up.Costs us a try a game at least and tonight he did not dissapoint.Straight out of the Buddha textbook.

And Scott Princes kicking display???????Absolutely laughable. So bad that I was actually pissing my pants every time he kicked it.And he lulled me into a false sense of security with 2 good kicks at the start, but gee he was back to his inept best after that.......HE SHOULD NEVER KICK AGAIN.

Olympic Park Melbourne
Referee: Tim Mander
Video Referee: Graeme West. Touch Judges: Gavin Badger, Allen Foster
Scorers:
STORM
Tries: Slater, Bell, Johnson, Kidwell, Kearns
Goals: Smith 2/4, Orford 3/4
WESTS TIGERS
Tries: Laffranchi, Elford, Fitzhenry,Galea
Goals: Hodgson 4/4

By the clock:

1st min: We are underway at a very cold Olympic Park.

10th min: Still no score but both sides have had some early chances which have not been converted into points.

12th min: TRY - Storm. Billy Slater uses some fancy footwork close to the Tigers line and finds his way across. Conversion successful. Storm 6-0.

19th min: The game is starting to open up with Brett Hodgson returning the ball beautifully from his own goal line. A very even contest in front of what looks to be a decent sized crowd.

24th min: Mark O'Neill leaves the field for the Tigers with a bad nose bleed which has left him in a bad way. There looks to have been a high shot but nothing sinister.

26th min: TRY - Tigers. Anthony Laffranchi scores a try out of dummy half. There was a suggestion of an obstruction against Matt Orford but it was a fair try. A very good contest underway. Conversion successful. 6 all.

29th min: TRY - Storm. A speculator from Dustin Cooper to Steven Bell sees Bell score nex to the sticks unopposed. Conversion unsuccessful. Storm 10-6.

31st min: TRY - Storm. Matt Orford ran 70 metres from the kickoff which set up the try. Orford threw a falt pass to Dallas Johnson who makes it look all too easy after half an hour. C6nversion successful. Storm 16-6.

39th min: TRY - Tigers. Shane Elford finishes a sparkling backline movement after a string of penalties to the Storm for lying all over the player in the tackle. Conversion successful. Storm 16-12.

41st min: Second half is underway and it should be very entertaining as both sides have played a high quality game.

43rd min: TRY -Storm. David Kidwell crashes over from dummy half. The Storm have come out breathing fire in the second half. Conversion unsuccessful. Storm 20-12.

50th min: PENALTYY GOAL - Storm. Matt Orford takes over the kicking duties and makes no mistake with a penalty goal to extend the Storm lead to double figures. Storm 22-12.

59th min: PENALTY GOAL - Storm.Matt Orford extends the Storm lead to two converted tries. Time, discipline and the scoreline are starting to work against the Tigers. Storm 24-12.

64th min: TRY - Storm. Melbourne wrap it up through a try to Robbie Kearns. Matt Orford dropped the grubber in on the Tigers line, Brett Hodgson couldn't handle it and Robbie Kearns was there to pick up the crumbs. Conversion successful. Storm 30-12.

73rd min: TRY - Tigers. Daniel Fitzhenry scores a great try after Jason Moodie made a fifty metre break, passes to Hodgso, back to Moodie, onto Prince, onto Marshall, Galea then Fitzhenry to score in the corner. Conversion successful. Storm 30-18.

80th min: TRY - Tigers. Ben Galea gets a late consolation try after Brett Hodgson did a chip n chase that somehow landed in Galea's hands and he raced away untouched. Conversion successful. Storm 30-24.

Prince was shocking. Mears and Senter were shocking. Elford was bad. As I've said many times Fitzhenry can't tackle.

Heigington was ok. Moodie and Hodgson were good.

But Prince and Marshall were what cost us the game i'm afraid. Especially Prince. I don't know whether he has origin hangover or what, but he was terrible.

Looks like Satts might be injured too...was limping on his dicky knee.

Very dissapointing tonight,we were outsmarted, outclassed and outmuscled.I reckon a fair score would have been 40-12......so 30-24 is something.

Cheers.

Marshall got found out tonight. People have been saying he is ready. He obviously isnt. Last week against Parra lulled us into a false sense of security. Marshall is a freak and against a first division quality side he will carve it up. But in first grade he simply doesnt have the game yet. He reminded me of Dykes tonight. Running across field and crowding his backline. Benji has to learn he isnt the only player on the field. Apart from that he was directly responsoble for two melbourne tries. He missed basic tackles. Slater was three classes above benji tonight, showing clearly the difference between a player who is young ans still makes mistakes and a player who simply isnt ready

cheers

Forwards and halfs were terrible add Elford to them too. The rest of the backs did ok for no ball. Honestly if we didn't drop the ball so much we might have even won even with the poor tackling and kicking game. Hodgeson and Moodie did well though and Mears wasn't bad off the bench. Time for him to move in a play hooker and have Farah off the bench. O'Neill and Senter are past it and Sattler had his worst game for us so far (though he did look to be struggling with injury). Probably Benji's worst game for us as well but such a skinny field didn't leve much space for him in attack and thats why he is in the team as his defense wasn't up to firstgrade. Still I hope he isn't too badly injured. What a depressing game.. ahh well hope we can beat the warriors but after tonights efforts I'm not sure how well we will go.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't take Kerr. He's ours. We paid for him so go to buggery. You can have Beuttner (although I'd like to keep him too), but leave us Kerr.

BTW did you notice the difference between a real half back and a 5/8 pretending to be a half? State of Origin halfback my arse.
